I think it's Braveheart, especially the last part when he was being tortured, or being sentenced to death. I also like the part were he painted his face, he is so adorable and so cute at that time. An action filled movie and may I add that it's also a love story because he wouldn't fight if only they have not killed her wife. Grrrr... I love this story. Whats your fave movie of Mel Gibson?

yes, braveheart is a great movie and maybe his best movie. he got the oscar for directing the movie, while the movie itself was awarded the oscar also as the best film. yes the last part when he was being tortured is quite shocking. i personally like the scene when sophie marceau told her dumb dying father in law that he have wallace's child within her. the father, the king, despite his dumbness, looked so shock and angry but he could do nothing. how can he stay calm, his kingdom will be ruled by wallace's descendant, an insurgent from scotland.

He was very good in Braveheart! I pretty much like most of his movies actually. I grew up in the 80's and back then it was the "Lethal Weapon" and "Mad Max" movies that he was most well know for. I think in the US the Mad Max movies were renamed to "Road Warrior"? I also like "The Patriot", "Signs" and he was very good in "We were soldiers" as well..... He has proven himself behind the scenes as well. "Passion of the Christ" was somewhat controversial but very poignant; and his 2006 movie about Mayan culture - "Apocalypto" I have not seen but have heard that this too is very hard hitting.

Apocalypto is not for the faint of heart but if you are a movie buff, you shouldn't miss watching this movie. It doesn't have famous stars or award-winning actors but the cast is very good and I like what they did, it feels like I am watching a documentary of sorts, it really feels real. Mel Gibson is not included in the movie (just saying, peace), he was the director and I think he also partook as a scriptwriter and producer.

I have to say We Were Soldiers is my favorite but Braveheart certainly ranks right up there with it. Forever Young premierd 2 days before my 13th bday and my dad, who never goes to the movies, took me to see it. He considered action stars not to be real actors. After the movie he complimented his acting. So, sentimentaly, it's my favorite. Oh man, I could go on and on.

I liked him in Braveheart, but I think The Patriot was probably his best performance. Of course I always liked the Lethal Weapon movies too...but I still think The Patriot was the best...

I actually forgot about the movie We Were Soldiers...I may need to change my original answer to this one. We Were Soldiers was an awesome portrayal of a real American hero, and they went above and beyond to get the details right. I like the movies that are based on true events. Braveheart was also based on a true story, at least to some extent. I don't know if they actually killed his wife to set things off in the real story the way they did in the movie, but I know this struggle actually took place in early history. I am not sure if The Patriot was based on an actual guy or not, though I am sure there were a lot of people who lived similar lives during the Revolutionary War. It would be interesting to know if this movie was based on actual events as well. I like this movie because it tells the story of life during that time and the story of people willing to stand and fight for what they believe in.

Signs is also another good Gibson movie. Though totally fictional, it is a good story. Joaquin Phoenix, another superb actor, gives a good performance in this one as well. Signs has been called the last great M Night Shayamalan film, and I am inclined to agree. Some have even questioned why M Night Shayamalan keeps making movies. Some of his stuff is just way too far out there, but he did a good job on Signs. Of course, with actors like Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix (Ladder 49 is another great Joaquin Phoenix movie that features John Travolta in perhaps one of Travolta's best performances as well...a definite must see if you haven't seen it already) on the set, it is hard to go wrong. Come to think of it...Has Mel Gibson ever made a bad movie. I have to day that I cant think of one right off the top of my head...

Yeah I do agree on you with Mel Gibson didn't had a bad movie. Although the least that I like would be Payback with Lucy Liu. We were Soldiers is a great movie, but I like Saving Private Ryan of Tom Hanks better.

Braveheart and Forever Young are on top of my list, I also like his other movies but as we're speaking of the best, I'd stick with Braveheart. It is one of the most heart-wrenching movie that I have ever seen, the Notebook and Legends of the Fall are on that category, too. He was so good in that movie, I wished he earned all the Oscars during that time, the movie was witty and full of heart, one of the best movies of all time, according to me.

Braveheart is awesome movie. I like him in all his roles. One that sticks out for me is Conspiracy Theory with Julia Roberts. I thought he was very good in this role as well. Liked What Women Want also , thought he was very funny in that one.

Yeah I love that movie too especially the OST, "I love you baby and if it's quite alright I need you baby trust in me when I say." What's the title of that song?. And the thing that I love in What women want was the time that he danced. Its a classic, never have I seen him dance before that. He is such a versatile actor, from action to comedy to romance even in directing. He is really an idol.

Not a fan of Mel Gibson, that's quite odd. But it's your choice, maybe you just really haven't had the chance to see one. If you did you'll surely love to see more movies of him.

Apocalypto is a great movie, though we must read the subtitle to understand it which I don't like in movies because I want to focus on the movie to see all the details. Anyways it's still a great movie especially the time he raised his hand and shouted to his enemies that he is brave, then the enemies jumped to the falls too. He ran and it really made me laugh.

yeah seeing him and Helen Hunt together is really quite a pleasant thing to watch. Their chemistry is really awesome. But you know, kinda think of it, they are both good actor and actress.

Yea, Braveheart is my favorite MG movie. It was my favorite movie of all until the Lord of the Rings came out. I really like "Signs" too. It's kind of a crazy sci-fi, which I like, and Mel Gibson's character loses faith in God. But later he returns to his faith. Kinda like real life.

Lord of the Rings is a wonderful and will be one of the greatest movie that has been shown. But as you can see this is Mel Gibson's topic so Braveheart is really the top on my list when it comes to him. Signs is not really my forte, I don't like this kind of sci-fi movies, it's kinda weird and scary for me.

I agree Braveheart is hi best film, but I knew him from 'lethal weapon', so if I have to chose between his films, I will chose 'Lethal Weapon', of course the original one. From the moment I watched that film, I never miss his film, and I tried to watch it at the cinema... In fact I didn't go to cinema many time, but for his film I did it.

Braveheart is good. A talented actor to be sure. However I have to go with Forever Young. To understand that the heart transends time is to understand the whole universe! His humor is what I find most appealing. But I am a wannabee humorist!
