Some british people think that americans are rude and loud,i dont, all the americans i have ever met have been ultra polite and well mannered. What is the general feeling about british people in the us,if there even is one?

I can't speak for anyone else but I love Brits! I met several where I used to work and we got along just fine. It helps that I've always been a big fan of British comedy, Monty Python, Benny Hill, Absolutely Fabulous, Are You Being Served, Keeping Up Appearances, The Two Ronnies, Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, Mr. Bean, etc. It's a great icebreaker when an American can start throwing around Monty Python quotes during a conversation! I have met several here on myLot and other forums as well and for the most part I have had no problem at all. Like every other nationality, including Americans you are always going to run into a few who try to be difficult. But I chalk that up more to human nature, not nationality.

A lot of Americans are rude and loud. Some are not. There are some rude statements made about the British. Mainly from those who say things about every other country. I call them the culturally clueless. I can't speak for others, but I get the British often better than I get Americans. I have a friend who tells me I'm more British than American. Who knows? Maybe it has to do with us Americans who get British humor.

I really don't have a bad preception of them. I do think they talk with a funny accent and its kind of wierd to drive on the other side of the road. lol

The general consensus is that the British are uptight and have their noses turned up to far. That is not my feeling at all. I have met a lot of Brits, both off line and on. I find most of them to be very charming, friendly people with a great sense of humor.

That is NOT what I meant! That is pretty funny, though.

I think a lot of the British I have met have been rude and get really mad at little stuff. They just don't like Americans at ALL. And nobody knows why. Its like they teach it over there. But some can be rude yes but so can any race, any country, and in any language.
