How many credit cards do you have? Would you say it´s a good or a bad idea to have credit cards? I only have one and use it as little as I can. I keep reading these nightmare stories about people and their credit cards, so now i´m even considering canceling my only one. Why do you have credit cards? Is it really necessary? Do you use it frequently? Who´s in charge of the payments and manages it? I think the only case when I really needed one was to rent a car a while ago,but even then I think I could´ve rented without my credit card. What about people who don´t have any credit cards? Do they have more restrictions on things or miss out just becuase they don´t have one?

i can't really remember exactly how many credit cards i have. some i have because i liked the benefits. others i applied because i liked the welcome gift. whenever i read about people getting into debt because of credit cards, i don't blame the credit card. i was never in such a situation before and i've held credit cards for ten years. spending within one's means should be a logical choice. even without credit cards, these people will still get into debt. i pay for everything possible with my credit cards. i will make sure i pay in full by due date. this way i get rewards for my normal spending and yet not incur any charges. cheers ;p

My husband and I have two credit cards which we use very little. The only reason we use them at all is to keep them active and to pay off the balance at the end of each month so that reflects well on our credit. The main reason we have these cards is for emergencies...like if we have to run for our lives because a large hurricane is coming and we need to get a couple of motel rooms for us and my daughter's family.
