I think that friends may disappoint us from time to time. It is only human. But, from that moment on the friendship may go afew steps back. They have to prove themselves. I am very praticular about such things. I believe in quality, not guantity in this area.

if you still want his friendship then be his friend. but keep him at arms length. and not to sound mean but dont be surprised if he lets you down again. because it is possible. but it is also possible he wont, so you have to play it by air

I don't know. It depends on the situation. I've stopped talking to people that crossed boundaries and made me feel like I was worthless. That feeling has stayed with me all these years and I still blame them for treating me like dirt. So in most cases I do end up not talking to them ever again. There's no reason to hang around someone who has let you down in the worst way.
