Lots of Style... but what about substance?

I mentioned this on a previous post, but feel like it deserves its own thread. The convention in Denver was certainly full of style. A fantastic speech by the woman trying to break the glass ceiling urging her supporters to support Obama. A speech by one of the most popular Presidents of all time to try to unite the Party. A rockstar speech in a football stadium. But I must ask, where were the speeches lauding the accomplishments of the man who is trying to convince America that he is ready to lead. Where is the speech to the American People showing all Senator Obama has done to lead change that he is promising? I watched, as I do everytime, eager to hear the Democrats and their platform and for something that I can grasp on to and say Ok, I don't agree with the candidate but I think we will not be too much worse off than we are today. I am a die-hard conservative, but I do believe in listening to both sides and making an informed decision and to me this was a fantastic showing, but with no substance.

Obama stated his positions and policies very clearly. Even stated how he will fund his programs. This argument is getting to seem as an act of desperation. This DNC probably had mre substance than any convention in at least the last 16 years.

Yes, his policies were stated, and yes he told us how he was going to pay for them, but I didn't hear anything of why he is qualified to be in the White House. He has a story, a personal one, of his rise to where he is today, but they are not touting his accomplishments. Therefore, no substance.

Not touting his Washington "accomplishments" so much, though he did to an extent. That is the poing though, and one of the reasons he is more in touch with what is really going on in the real world.

Hi, What ever he told resembled much of a Early Clinton.Clinton was initially very much of anti outsourcing.Latter on he learned how much his government was able to save on it.Before he can really implement his term was over.I really do not know why Obama is starting again from the first lesson. He could easily access the experience in Clinton. Is there any Ego problem.
