how to learn english ?

The best way to learn is to practice. Listen, read, write and speak in English as often as possible. When you don't understand something, just ask. Native speakers learn this way from birth. We improve our skills continuously throughout life, by looking up new words, reading and speaking often. It is not a stupid topic. The only way to know is to ask.

Great topic. Speaking any language is learned by listening and practice at speaking. A translation dictionary is always a good tool. To read and better comprehend English in written form, find a class or books & tapes on phonics. This will help you pronounce various letter combinations as well as sound out new words you encounter. To improve your writing skills try books on English grammar (the rules of the English language). There will always be exceptions to the spelling and pronunciation of some words. One of the silliest things is the letter combination OUGH. It can be pronounced many ways. B-O-U-G-H is pronounced bow, but C-O-U-G-H is not pronounced cow. :-) Keep practicing and keep participating here in MyLot.

I don't have it as my first language but I was able to muster the confidence needed to make sentences in accord of that language. I can only remember two things my teacher taught me to, first is, English is 100% hearing, then have the guts to do it. Then after that, I just read a wide selection of books.

I don't think that it is a stupid topic since English is now become an international language, everybody should learn it in order to be able to communicater with people with different mother tongue. But I don't understand your question, why should the native English speakers learn english? I mean, they have learned it all their life

hi there..the english language is really used by many countries now a days. everyone should ought to learn that language in order to understand another country. about your question on how to learn english, first, you can enrol in ESL classes. there are also a lot of english lessons online. after enrolling on those lessons you can enhance your english by reading english books, watching english movies or tv shows, or even listen to the radio. :)
