Yes,we have a door bell as the accessory of the door. The ring is a little bit small that we can hardly hear if you're in the bedroom.I'm thinking of having a change with another loud one.~Just like a alarm in the school!!Normally, there's few mistaken belling.~lol

Yea, I should think a change would be in order. What good is a door bell if you can't hear it ring?

We don't have a door bell but I could see why that would be irritating. People are always calling on the phone when my 2 year old is napping and that is pretty annoying too. So I just unplug the phone when he naps! Good day to you.

I do have a cell phone so if there was some emergency people can still get a hold of me. I just unplug the house phone.

Yeah we do. Cause a lot of the time we're all in our rooms. We just can't here if someone is outside calling out to us. So the doorbell really helps. Anyway it would really be irritating if you have a baby sleeping and every minute someone would come each and every 20-30mins and rings the bell like 2 to 3x. But I don't think it happens in an ordinary household like ours. Our doorbell rings about 5x/day only after all.

I have a very noisy doorbell (my husband and father got it). It's too long and too loud. I didn't have a problem when my older son was younger...because he would sleep through any noise (except when he was just falling asleep)...but I did have a problem because my younger one would wake up at the slightest noise...but the stubborn person that I am....I felt it was better for him to get used to the noise than to disconnect the bell or put a message out asking for people to knock. Now, he's 21 months old and can sleep through the noise of the bell....or any noise for that matter. But I do have to admit, it is irritating...and I always feel it is louder than it really is and will wake the baby.

We use to have a door bell that played about seven different tunes. After a while it did get rather annoying especially as the kids would ring it just to hear the different tunes so we disconnected it. And we now just have a knocker which is alot better. Only trouble is you can't hear it when you are out in the back garden.

Yaah I got your point in this matter but I think it is still better to put the door bell back in the house if it would help.....

we don't use a door bell in our house. our house is small enough so that we can hear a soft knock at our front door, except when we are sleeping . when i was still a child, i liked to play with the door bells. i and my friends would come to a house and ring the bell and run before the house owner come out. we did that several time, just for fun. how stupid now, is i 'believe in karma', i worry that kids will play with our door bells if we install one in our houses lol.

I agree with you. Here i would like to suggest you for a video door bell system which helps you to see who rings your doorbell. The system will also helps you to secure your home from theft. http://videodoorphone.org/vdp-manufacturers/aurine-video-door-phone.html

door bell - bell ringing
We use door bell and we just open the door only when somebody rings the bell its true that when you have baby its difficult for you to use a door bell these toddlers get up even if there was small sound .We usually lock our door , since our door is made of wood we had no other go to open the door fully if some one knocks we wont be able to hear it, my brother only irritates me because he just keeps his hand and presses on it often when he want us to open the door soon and even some bad neighbors do it when we are asleep in the midnight

We don't have a doorbell and I am glad that we don't. In the house that my grandparents had, the door bell was a set of chimes that hung on the wall and they were so nice and pretty sounding. I would have to have a set like that if I were to have a doorbell as I could not stand just a dumb ding dong.

Yes I have a doorbell but the ringer is downstairs and the bedrooms are upstairs, so it has never inconvenienced us or my kid when he was sleeping. I have a cousin that does agree that the phone and doorbell would wake up her kid,but it is annoying that we would want to get ahold of her and she woudn´t answer her phone because she would disconnect it so it wouldn´t wake up her daughter. Later it got to a point that we went over and had to be whispering all the time so she wouldn´t wake up, and really it seemed like everything revolved around the baby and turned everybodys life upside down
