Socks and Shoes or Shoes and socks?

How do you tell someone to put their socks and shoes on? I say socks and shoes, but many say shoes and socks...

Shoes and socks seem to have a better ring to it than the other way around, it just seems to rool off the tounge.

Well it pays to put the socks on first in my book, but them I'm a hillbilly so what do i know right? but a plus your way for asking

I try to say socks and shoes because if I say shoes and socks my 7 year old is a smart alleck and would say I can't put on my shoes then socks. :)
