Being in the rain can NOT make some one sick. Viruses and bacteria make you sick. That being said, and I STILL don't understand this, but when the weather is stormy I feel crappier in terms of my Fibromyalgia even though I LOVE the rain! Is it barometric pressure? Humidity? I don't know. But I DO seem to ache more.

That is the same way with my arthritis. I can often tell when a big storm is coming before it comes because of the pain. I do think barometric pressure has a lot to do with it as well as humidity and maybe even other things. Cold and winter storms will do it too.

Playing in the rain doesn't make someone sick. Getting exposed to the viruses of the illness is what makes one sick. If you play in the rain and then get sick shortly after that, it is probably because you were already exposed to the virus. Going outside with your hair wet is another of those ideas that people have that they think you will get sick. It takes a virus to make you sick, not rain or wet hair.
