Hey my dream is to some day own a home the beauty of owning a home is you dont have to share walls with a nabor you dont have to worry about your landlord when you own a house you can paint the wall and decorate the way you want and you can have pets and theres more space not to mention the equity i think owning a home is a grate investment how about you all do you prefer to rent or to buy.

Hi there apples99 I would love to own my own house but sadly I think it will never be. I am a single mum to 3 and don't work, I am supported by the government! Anyway, the advantage is that if there is a problem with the plumbing, heating or anything costly I will not have to worry about it because my landlord will deal with it. I am allowed to have pets and decorate my house however I see fit! I don't think I could afford to run my own house at the moment anyway!

well your lucky not all apartment complexes here are like that lol, sometimes it takes forever to get anything fixed where i live and sometimes i have really loud nabers, you said you think you will never be able to get a house well never say never anything's possible if you want it bad enough, but it sounds like you got a nice spread, my place isnt bad but its not as nice as having a house with a yard and a garden and more space.

I think that there are advantages to both, I have had my own house and I have rented houses/apartments. With a rental you don't have to worry about any of the maintenance, you just report it and they fix it. However, owning a home, I can paint the rooms if I want, I can decorate to my taste, which I have always done even in a rental. It is nice not having to hear your neighbors through the walls, that is a big plus to owning a home. And as you point out you are building equity, and you will have something to show for the money you have spent. Unlike renting, you really don't have anything to show for the money spent. I think it depends on personal taste also, for some not having any yard to take care of, like with an apartment or townhouse, is a plus. Also having priviledges such as pool, workout room, etc is a plus to living in an apartment, and no upkeep to having the pool.

Hey there you said that one of the things you like about renting is the you just report the maintenance and they fix it well not in every case sometimes you call for maintenance at an apartment it takes for ever for them to fix it, lol.
