yeah your right. we cant agree to all points but we have to because they always try to help us and try to motivate us. sometimes it might be the case that their advice is wrong because they don't know in which situation we are? but i think at least listen to them and if you find them right them follow them.

Come on yar. We are not a real teenager if we listen to our elders. Hehe. I don't agree to all their views. I will have my own thoughts and opinions. I will ask their opinion and if I feel that its good then I will listen. If I am not satisfied with their opinion I don't do it. Hehe. Lol. Happy mylotting.

hi buddy.. thanks for initiating this useful discussion.. actually i agree that elders have more experience.. they learn a lot from their mistake and they doesnt want us to suffer.. but the thing is that they were in our stage some yonks back and to some extent unaware about the present world.. that is not allowing me to follow some of their words.. happy mylotting

hi mssaranya as we have generation gap with our elders. they have their own point of view and we have our own. it is not necessary that they will be right at all points. but whatever they are saying that is based on their experience. they will not be right at all points but....... they will also not wrong at all points. for the sake of repect we have to listen whatever they are saying but impement if u like or just listen. take care

yeah...true...times changes...and we have to move with the times...we cant do now what they used to do in their time, or it comes out stupid and ridiculous because modern times has a different lifestyle than olden times. so, just live for time and just understand the old geezers as from a different time era with a different generation and lifestyle to respect one another and live in harmony and peace.

You don't have to agree with your elders, but you should always be respectful, even when their views are hopelessly out of date. They should respect your views, also. Remember that if the elder of which you speak is your parent, and you are still a minor living under their roof, you DO have to obey whether you agree or not.

I have to agree with you. I do listen to them but I do not follow everything they say to me. Basically, they do have strong points on whatever things that might happen to me but it does not necessarily mean that they are always correct. Nothing is permanent in this world but the change so whatever they have experienced in the past may not already be applicable today. I do not mean to disrespect them but sometimes they just need to know that just because they are old, doesn't mean that they already know everything. I need to learn from them and they also need to learn from me.

No, even though most of the time they are right, but there are also time when they don't understand what we the young are facing. Sometimes, what they suggest really can't apply on what we're facing. Isn't it? But, just a suggestion to all the young ones, don't ever say that in front of your elders, they will be mad. And I'm sure no one will be happy about it. (",)

I would have to say No but there were many times I wished I would have. I think our elders are wiser and we should listen more and maybe we won't have to learn the hard way.
