I always feel excited to go watching a movie in the cinema. I think it's because when since childhood, it had been an exciting event for me to watch cartoon or Walt Disney movie. My parents usually will bring me there occasionally especially when there is a good film release. Sometimes, I found that some of my friends do not seem to be anticipating new movies as I am. Possibly they do not have great interest in watching movie or they did not enjoy watching movie since childhood. But if I go to watch movie, I won't go alone. How about you? Do you like to watch movie in the theater? Is is ok for you to watch movie there alone?

I see. Is it real time chat for booking the hotel room? I am working as an electronic engineer in a semiconductor product manufacturing factory. I had been working for 8 years in this field. The company I worked in is only an hour drive from my home town. Working hour is on normal days 8am to 5pm.

Great! That must be the most wonderful thing for you! A free HBO channel from your living place. So, you could watch abundance of movie in the comfort of your place. I love movie also, but couldn't afford to go cinema all the time. Sometimes, I just buy some DVD and watch it at home. How is the job nature of internet operator like?

Hi cheongyc, it is totally different to watch movies in the cinema to that at home. I like the atmosphere there, sitting together with our loved ones or friends watching the movie and eating our favorite food in the cinema. I enjoy the sound system in the cinema as well though we have our own Home Cinema Systems set at home. So far I haven’t visited the cinema alone. I like going with my family or friends. I hadn’t watched movie in a cinema nearly a year. The last time I went to a theater was in the August of last year after having the wedding dinner in KL, I went there with my hubby, son and my nephew and his wife to watch the movie transformers posting and have a nice day.

I agree that watching movie in the cinema is a totally different experience with watching it at home. The atmosphere is just different. That's why I prefer watching movie in the cinema. I have a home theater system at home too, but it's not a hi-end one. Just an average one. I go to the cinema once or twice a month. I couldn't imagine how it is, to go to the cinema once a year. Although I visited the cinema frequently, but I still feel excited every time I go there, especially when I go watching an anticipated films. Thanks for your response and have a nice day!

It's really been a long since the last cinema closed after being consumed by the fire. So, the people at your place must have get used to it. I believe they will look for alternatives like going outstation for movie, or watching DVD in the comfort at home (like what you are doing now). The cinema is definitely, I assure you, to be extremely crowded, during the first few weeks of its opening. Because, it's been quite a long without a cinema. The people will be anticipating its launching and flock to it when it's open. Hope you will enjoy the movie there as well!

I’ve never visited any cinema for quite a long time for here, the place where I live don’t have any cinema since the last one was destroyed by fire about eighteen years ago. Most of us usually go the cinemas in the nearby town to watch movies. I rather prefer to watch DVD movies at home On the 15th of September, two days ago there are 7 cinemas in the top floor of the newly opened shopping mall nearby were come into service. I haven’t visited to any of them yet. I’m sure there must be quite congested for the first few days so I would pay a visit to them later on. Now the people here don’t have to take the trouble of an hour drive just for the sake to watch movie in the adjacent town anymore. posting and have a nice day.

Hello cheongyc. It was always very exciting for me to watch movies when I was a child till I graduated from college, especially as a child. But ever since the popularity of the TV and the accessibility to the Internet, I am no longer interested in going to the cinema to watch movies. I prefer to watch movies at home. I don't like to be in a crowded cinema for movies. The last time I watched a movie in the cinema was the year when Titanic was released. Have a good day.

That's more than 10 years back since your last movie! I just watched an interesting movie "The A Team" in the cinema just last week . It's really exciting to visit the theater when we were still a young kid. However, after we have grown up, it's not as wonderful as what we felt during our childhood. But I still feel the delight to watch the movie, especially if I am going to watch a long waited great film. Thanks for your response and have a nice day!

Yes, I enjoy going to the movie theater. I think it is a nice treat to go to see a movie and I also like to munch mindlessly on wonderful tasting pop corn. So it is like a double treat for me. We are going to movie this afternoon in fact. We are going to see Toy Story III. My kids want to see it and I really don't mind seeing a kids movie as they are usually pretty funny and entertaining these days.

I also don't mind watching kid's movie, as long as it's entertaining. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to watch Toy Story III. I might watch it on DVD later.

That is right. Going to cinema with loved one, is one of the best moment we can share with our friends, family & etc. I love most of the movies in general, including of what you said. The best part about watching movie in cinema, is its atmosphere ie. the wide screen and sound system. Thanks for your response and have a nice day jenserion!

I like to go to cinema to watch a movie when I was young, during my university time. I am a movie maniac and almost every weekend, I will watch a movie with my friends. So I can said, almost every movie I will go for it. But since I have a kid, no more cinema for me. I have not been touching cinema for more than 3 years. As time pastby, I don't really have the excitement to watch movie in the cinema anymore. It is better to be at home with my son and husband during weekend. And my son is too young to enjoy the movie in the cinema. Of course, when he reach 4-5 years old, I might try to bring my son to cinema for a movie.

Hi Shia88, ya both of us enjoyed the excitement of watching movies in the theater especially during childhood. However, I seldom went to cinemas during university time. I preferred to watch VCD at home. It's much cheaper and I can exchanged used VCD with friends and course mate. After working, I went to movies more because I could afford it with my salary. . Recently I will go and watch some great films once or twice every fortnight. Thanks for your response and have a nice day!

When I was younger I went to the theater very often but I don't do this anymore. I am more comfortable seeing a movie at home. If it is a new release and I really want to see it right away and not wait until it comes on cable or dvd then I will go.

Enjoying a movie at home is not a bad idea too. You could have the privacy and forget about interruption from other audience. Besides, you can watch anytime you want and do not need to line up for the ticket or pop-corn. Usually, if the film is not graphic intensive or if it is less famous, I prefer to watch it at home too. It would be a waste to watch the movie in cinema if it's not attractive at all. Thanks for your response howard96h!

I love going to the cinema with a big bag of popcorn! My partner and I both have monthly passes to our local cinema and we go there several times a month. It's just nice to get out of the house and see a film. I've never been to the cinema alone, but I think it's something I really want to do. It'd be scary for me as I don't have a lot of confidence, but I think it's a good thing to do to promote your independence.

Well, you and your partner are definitely great movie fans. It's not only because of the film itself that make us feel great, but the atmosphere of enjoying the movie amid a crowd of audience and also the advance sound system that makes us enjoy the film at its best. I am would like to try going alone, but on second thought, it's going to be boring, and thus giving up the idea. It's true that, if you are a very independent person, you shouldn't have problem going to cinema alone. I have a few friends, one of them is my cousin, have the practice of going to the theater alone, without any companion.

When I was a child, my parents often brought me to the cinema. Now I seldom go to the cinema because the movie ticket is quite expensive today. Besides, I have to find a free time to go to see the movie in a cinema. That's not so convenient. I love China

Yes, I agree that the movie ticket is getting more and more expensive, due to the effect of inflation. It used to RM2~RM3 per ticket when I was a kid. Now it's like RM8~10 per ticket. It's like 3 folds price rise! So, that's why if a movie is not attractive, I would rather buy the DVD and watch it at home. I only go to the cinema when there is good release. It's quite convenient for to get to the cinema, because it's just a stone's throw away from where I stay. Thanks for your response and have great day!

I agree. It's a very different experience watching movie in the cinema, compared to watching it at home. You might got ambient interference while watching movie at home. The door bell, the phone or your cooking pot might interrupt you while watching movie at home. It's only worthy watching good movie in the cinema. I would be very frustrated if I found out that the movie that I am watching in the cinema is under expectation.

I had tried same thing too, when I just subscribed my broadband internet service. I leave my computer on 7/24, so that it could download the movie files at all time. But I feel that it's less practical because of several difficulties. First, it's not easy to find a good torrent files. I have downloaded movie files infected by virus. Second, it takes quite a long time before a movie could be loaded completely. It's really disappointing to find that the file is corrupted and couldn't be played at all. Of course, we could always subscribe to a paid movie download site, but I wouldn't want to do that, because it's less worthy for me (I prefer going to cinema). Thanks for your response yyfrancine!
