Do You Just Wear What You WANT to Wear in CHURCH?

No matter how I close my eyes or ignore passers- by- church goers, I just can't help but to see and notice people going to church in somewhat inapropriate attire, (maybe this just happens in my place or maybe not)..I prefer to withhold my standard as to what should be the proper church attire for ALL RELIGION (we are all entitled to our own opinion, right?). But I am just wondering, when you attend church services, do you just wear what you WANT to wear? Or do you still consider propriety..fashion?..or the I-don't-care-about what-others-say mentality? THANKS FOR sharing!

I do try to be neat and clean and not dress disrespectfully when I attend church. However I don't really feel that it makes a great deal of difference to my GOD. I wonder .. Would Jesus look down on people because of how they dressed? I think that too much emphasis is placed on this sort of thing and sometimes this turns me off. But, I know that Religiousity is NOT the reason I go to church. I really "don't-care-care-what-others-say". I know why I am there and I hope that there are many others there for the same reason...to worship and serve my GOD in fellowship with my community.

Isn't church supposed to be about love, peace and not judging others....? What is innapropriate attire anyway?

Being a nonChristian I of course dont go to church BUT I still believe that though wearing the "Sunday Best" is a little out dated or maybe just impractical these days, being neat and tidy is a must IMO....I mean going to church in your stained, torn "workin in the yard" clothes to me IS NOT appropriate..but being all fancied up isnt necessary and for some ppl it just isnt doable...Not everyone can afford to have "nice" clothes ya know...but even those who cant dress like that should still show up as neat as possible IMO

whoever your deity is, once they've seen you on the toilet, dressing up for them seems pretty pointless. hehe.

Hello, yes you are right, we are all entitled to our own opinion. Normal, no one can tell you what to wear or not. It is your own decision.
