No. I would have been happy to donate it if the option had been available to me. In Indiana the option was not there.

The option was there for me, but the opportunity was not because it's expensive. I looked into it and I really wanted to do it, but I simply couldnt afford it.

I am also in Indiana. I didn't realize that it wasn't available here, but I wouldn't have done it anyway because of the cost.

Very intriguing topic you have started. I have never heard of 'baby cord banking' I am going to be doing a search to find more about this although my two children are now adults it still does not hurt me to keep learning about such things.

This is true. As I have understood it, cord blood banking is essentially storing your child's umbilical cord blood if the child should ever need blood for any reason in the future. It can sometimes be used by other family members with the a matching blood type as your child. The problem is that it is expensive. I'm thrilled that I was able to bring this life saving procedure to your attention. Thanks for responding!

babies - child
I would have loved to and we did consider the option for our second child. But it's very expensive here in India and we decided that we couldn't afford to do it:(

Same here. I really wanted to do that, but here in the states it is very expensive as well. We couldn't afford it either. Thanks for replying.
