Time Flies

Do you ever find yourself looking at a clock or calendar, and saying "Where did it all go?" Remember being a kid and thinking six months was an enternity to wait for Christmas, driver's license, going to college, etc. It's weird, but as we get older everything seems to speed up so astronomically. I'm finding myself, here recently, wondering if I'm living in some kind of time accelerator. It seems that everytime I turn around, time has fast forwarded. However, to be fair, everytime I have to wait in line somewhere, time kindly comes to a screeching halt. So, perhaps, it is trying to be nice. :)

I have noticed this as well and I just believe it comes with age. I believe we take on more and more tasks overall and time just seems to be quicker. I think when we are younger we have so much fun we just don't think about it.

You may be right. But I also wonder if perception changes because of age. When your 1 year old, six months is half your life. When your two years old, one year is half your life, etc. As we get older, a year becomes a smaller and smaller percentage of overall life, so it seems to run by faster. However, the fact that life becomes more time consuming probably has a lot to do with our perception of how quickly it's going by. As a child, you have very limited "have tos," as an adult, you've got lists and lists. For me, I wouldn't trade my lists for childhood. I like the car keys and credit cards.

It makes you stop and think, doesn't it? As the time flies by, you wonder what's going to happen? However, it reminds us to take each moment as the "present" that it is. Even the frustrating aspects of our life provide us with something to build upon for future "presents." Still, it wouldn't be bad to have a slow down machine once in a while.

I was just thinking how fast time goes. It seems like just yesterday that the summer had just begun and now it is over. I think I have been thinking about that because of the weather here. A couple weeks ago it was almost 100 . . . today it is 74!

It's truly scary sometimes. All around us we are given little signs that time is just rushing past us, but we take it for granted. I don't many people really realize just how precious every little second is. Summer seems to rush faster then a some of the other seasons. The only other one that really seems to fly by is the one we're about the enter. The holiday season has it's own time measuring stick. No matter how well one plans, or tries to enjoy it, it almost always ends up in a hustle and bustle.
