my four month old child hums to herself before sleeping=)

she started doing that a couple of days ago, when my husband put her in her rocker, she started making these little noises (which i like to call humming). okay, not little noises. her voice was way too loud .
but its adorable, the way she sings herself to sleep. i kid my husband that because he does not sing to our baby when he makes her sleep, our baby sings to herself instead.
does/do your child/children do the same? hum to themselves until they fall asleep?2 people like this

Ohh..this is so sweet! I would love to hear your little girl!
My nephew did that when he was around that age. We gathered that his grandma (my sister's mother-in-law) must have sang him songs, while rocking him to sleep. He stayed with his grandma during the weekdays. Over the weekends, my sis would bring him home, and before he slept, they noticed that he would just 'make noises' (humming...I guess). It was so sweet!

My son does that too! It's funny because sometimes he'll do it before he falls asleep or when he wakes up and is just laying there waiting for me to get him. It's the cutest thing I've ever heard!!

my child has a new habit though. the moment she wakes up she starts saying "ohhhh, ahhhh". it's her way of waking me up, since she always wakes up before i do

Wow! I like that........I have not heard that in my life. I only know that kids cry to sleep. when my nephews were small, everytime they are sleepy they start crying. I used to sing to them until they sleep. I think your daughter is a superkid.........lol! she can wait for your songs instead she hums herself. That is soo nice and I wish that one day when am get my kid she sings herself to sleep. Why dont you record such experiences and keep them for future reference heheheheeeeee! I love kids with all my heart.

My niece likes to sing first before she sleeps, LOL. XD Anyway, did you sing to your baby while she was still in your womb? Research has proven that playing soothing music and talking to your baby while still inside your womb does a lot of wonders to his or her development. And probably like humming too! Or maybe it's one of the amazing reflexes that she does that comes with singing to her or making her listen to soothing music.

i had sung to her sometimes when she was still in my womb. but mostly, i talk to her. i guess that is partly why. and she is so noisy now when i talk to her, cause she coos or gurgles back in response, as if she can understand me.
