These past few days had been a real hectic time for me. It was to the extent whereby I have totally no time for nothing else especially for Mylot (Sorry to all my friends who I had neglected when I went 'Missing in Action' for these past 4-5 days). My company had just restructured some of its policies and work procedures for our agents. We had just launched our induction training for all of our new agents, and Wednesday was the first day of the launch. I was there from morning all the way to end work, watching our bosses present to the new agents on all our office operations and compliance issues. This went on till today. And it's my first time logging in to Mylot after so long! I miss Mylot! There is still induction training tomorrow (it's a two and a half day course), however I had just received the good news today! I can finally take a breather and relax, because I don't have to go for the training tomorrow!! Somebody else will go in my place. I am just so happy, as this means that I will be in the office, and where I have the time, I can Mylot, instead of just sitting down and staring off into space! Isn't that great!! And to all my friends, I am not missing!! I'm back!

LOL Welcome back, angelia!! I guess I am back too after a longish break. I did not get a breather to log into Mylot for nearly five days. Once I logged in and I had to log off almost immediately. Work and deadlines!! Cheers and happy mylotting :)

Welcome back too !!! Coming to think about it, it had been a long time since I heard from you too!! It's nice to have you back here with us! I totally understand what you mean! Work and deadlines can really choke up our time, and once we log into Mylot, we have got to log off from it. It's very frustrating in the sense that when you see the responses to your discussions and you feel like responding to them, but knowing that by responding to them, you might get fired from your work. Lol, tough choice to make! Are you having your breather too!?

It is a sort of a breather. Since I am a work-at-home freelance writer, I don't have any bosses breathing down my neck as such. It simply means that I am my own boss, and I am afraid I am worse than all the bosses I had so far. This means I am very particular about deadlines and quality and all that stuff. If I don't, I will get no more projects, and that means I will have to have a real nine-to-five job and a breathing-down-my-neck boss. LOL!! So, yes, I was very busy with a project that was getting on my nerves, and finally it is over, and I am free to Mylot a bit. Cheers and happy mylotting

Thank goodness it's all over and we don't have to rush anymore! Aiyoh, you are so so lucky to be working freelance where it's all about own time, own target I am envy of you. We don't get that too many freelancing work over here in Singapore unless you are really very highly skilled! What are you freelancing in? No more breathing down the necks boss, being a slave to the alarm clocks.. and rushing like a dog after the public transports.. Ahh~ that will be the greatest point of my life when I say Goodbye to all of those! Anyway, I am glad that your tough project is over and that you had managed to pull it off successfully! And I am glad too to have you back here in Mylot! Muacks~ That's a kiss for you! Well welcome back and yeppie yep! Happy Mylotting!!

Well, welcome back then! Gone for a good 4-5 days, I am sure you have a lot of catching up to do. Training for agents? You in the insurance line as well?

ha ha ha ha ha... I am not an insurance agent. I have a few friends on my list who are into the insurance line of work. When you say you are training agent, I thought you are an insurance agent as well. You are into audits eh? So, accounting is your core when you were studying. Is it tough to study accounting? I have a friend who is considering accounting as a full time course, but have doubts to whether the industry is there for work or not. Maybe you can give some advise. What are the prospects like for accounting graduates? What kind of jobs can one expect to look for after graduating? How many years of experience required to be able to earn a comfortable pay... as in $3000 a month? Or any other info you may have to advice would be helpful.

Well gone for about 10 days to be exact! Lol, I am way way behind and is trying to catch up on Mylot. Well, i am not in the insurance line. But I am working in a Financial Institute. Calling them agents seems much easier than calling them as Wealth Management Advisers which is the actual title for them. Lol, I am the Compliance Executive whereby I am working in the office, conducting audits on them, and ensuring that they adhere to the rules and laws of the financial line. I don't think I would ever want to step into the Financial line and become one of the agents myself. Too many rules and regulations to follow, and on top of that trainings to attend. That is all a bit too much for me. Lol. You mentioned 'as well'. So, are you an insurance agent??

Lol, No worries. Lots of people also have that sort of misconception when they heard that I am working in a financial institute. Lol, even before I open my mouth to explain what I am exactly doing, you can see all the defences coming out and the most wonderful of all excuses would all be spewing out of their mouths. When they realise that they had err, and that they had said the wrong things, my friends would become so embarassed and chose to be angry instead. It's something that I am used to already. So no problem there! I don't really think I could help you out there as I am not from the accountings section, instead I had majored in Finance.. and that is why I am in the financial line auditing the business conduct and business files of our agents. But I have nothing to do with the commission audit, as they falls within the commissions department and not the compliance department. But I believe that it would be not too long, maybe about 2 years after graduation. First start off with a small company with a degree in accountings, they would offer a market rate salary of about $2.5K. Anything less than that, don't bother as that would be the pay rate for a diploma holder in accountings. In about 1 - 2 years time (depending on performance), the pay would rise up to about 3k +. My cousin took 10 years in the industry to be at where she is now (which is about $8-$10K per month). It's definately a good pay for those who choose this as their profession. And well, all the best of luck in finding that 3K job!

Tomorrow is sat, and u still have to work?? hehe =D Thought it's supposed to be 5 days week?? I dun remember u are missing for so long, i did see u around 3 days ago.. haha ^_^ If i were u, i will prefer myself to be busy so that time will pass by alot faster and b4 i know it, it's weekend again ^_^ ONe thing i dun like to work in office type of jobs is that, it's very boring and they are always trainings or inductions or worse, meetings and seminars to attend.. I will rather be doing something else than attending all those things.. lol LAstly, welcome u back to mylot once again, and looks like, u will be welcomed back every week huh.. haha

Lol, no la.. This discussion was started on Thursday, which meant to say that I will have to go back to work on a Friday, but need not attend the induction training over at Aviva. Thank goodness. I nearly fell asleep the first two times! X_X I was around, but just had the time to log into mylot, reply to like one or two post and log off straight away. That was 3 days back. Other than that, for the past two days I was totally missing in action because of some friends issues and of course work issues. Lol, I prefer times like now where I can log into Mylot, take my sweet time in looking around the discussions, and respond to others as well as my own discussions. It's much more fun that way Office job is totally boring, you are doing the same old stuff every other day, and when you have cleared up all your work, and there is nothing else to be done, you still have to act busy. That's the worst thing about this. And conversations cannot be long among your colleagues or your boss will think you are eating snake Which is totally not true sometimes!

oops, sorry that i din take noticed on the date and time u started this discussion.. haha Yeah, induction are always boring and it often not to our interest, and even if it's to our interest, we will still feel bored as we are there to listen only.. haha Looks like office job has got alot more benefits too huh, other than meetings and rushing deadline reports, there seems to be nothing much to do, except for waiting to go home.. haha ^_^ ANd lucky for u that, u have got mylot to act busy, and your boss wun even know as u will be typing away.. lol But the way your boss sees things, is also right, most of my frenz whom are working in office, will always gossip about things, and try to back stab each other, plus alot more office politics that i will never understand.. lol

That's the one thing about working in the office that I could never understand. Lol, it always amazed me that even in a small company of less than 10 employees, there are still lots of politics that are going on. Haha, but I never do like to take part in all these politics that are going on, as you will never know when it will be the day whereby I myself would get stabbed in my back. So, it's best to 'sciam!'. There is good and bad to office work. Lol, good in that you are getting double salary when you are doing other things to supplement your income during office hours. And Mylot is one of the better way as I am typing, and it appears to those other people that I am hard at work, working on my report writing. of course, I will have to be careful and ensure that I rush out at least one report per day, otherwise it will look like very strange that I am hard at work with nothing to show for. Lol. What an outstanding employee, the boss would say!
