Do you watch televison while eating??

I have this bad habit of watching Tv while having my food. Although i dont like any kind of distraction while having my lunch or dinner but i need to keep the TV switched on. I need to hear the sound ofwhatever is showing in the TV at that point in time. Or i just like to put on some music while eating. I don know how it is related but i feel very uncomfortable when i dont get any kind of sound from the TV. D you wat TV while eating you Lunch or Dinner???

Most of the time we sit together as a family. No tv, just conversation. But there are days where my daughter has left for school. My hubby is off to the office. Then I turn on the tv and pour my cereal and eat in the living room. It's for company if nothing else.

That is so nice, we used to do it when my dad was alive. Because after dad, when mom used to go to work and i was left all alone. And when dad was alive, even if mom went to work dad was there and when dad went to wrok mom was there, so somebody was there to give me company. now it was only TV that could give me company and i got into the habit of watching it at all times.

I used to when I was very fat, but had to break that habit because I didn't even remember what I was eating! I have meals at the table in my dining room with rare exceptions. I usually have music in the house all the time and the tv is rarely on.

I get bored easy, so I have to watch something while I'm eating or else I'll just stop eating.

I cant sit to eat withput switching my TV on and i too cannot eat in peace if the Tv is not on. On particular days if we dont have elctricity at dinner or lunch time i wait for the electricity to come and then sit to eat!

Hello my friend... Well, to answer you question... I really don't have a choice but watch... Hahaha! My relatives love watching tv even while eating so I really don't have any choice. 
We do eat at the table as a family however attention span goes to either the food or the tv. Depends if their favorite show is on. Haha!

No matter where i sit, the TV should be within my view. I had started watching TV to give me company when i used to stay alone and that has not become a bad bad habit of mine. but i have started making efforts not to watch TV while eating, lets see how long i carry it off!

I used to this when I was younger and my parents always got mad at me because I'd end up staring at the TV than eating. It also takes too much of my time. Now that I have my own daughter, it's the other way, to make her eat, she needs to watch TV. Our bribe for her to eat is that we'd turn the TV off if she didn't eat. LOL!

Oh God, you reminded me of my childhood days. i used to be so engrossed in watching TV while eating that my mouth used to remain still with the food still inside it!! i would not chew the food till whatever i am watching got over and tjis used to really get my mom mad. Children have become exactly the opposite of what we were.

I also like to watch television while eating. All my family do that. We will eat and watch TV at the same time. I don't why I like doing that. I will watch TV every time I eat. I think eating while watching TV quite interesting.

its the same with me to Ravinder. Watching tv while eating ahs become so much of a ritual fro me now. I simply cannot eatin peace if the TV is not switched on.

I try not to watch television and eat dinner at the same time, because I don't think that it's really right for my children to have a meal in front of the television. I was brought up with older values and morals, and for my family dinner time is dinner time, and watching television can occur before or after but not during.
Now this isn't a stuck rule or anything like that, occasionally we will be so interested in a new movie that i will allow the children and my husband and I to have dinner in on the couch, but most of the time when that happens we are having pizza anyway lol so we can eat that anywhere and still be happy lol. Great discussion.

Yes, I usually watch TV while I'm eating lunch or dinner. I'm just more comfortable sitting on my couch than at my table because my kitchen is so small!

I know, it kind of feels at home when you watch television while eating, i say feel at home because there are people who have very strict rule at the dining table.One can't talk, one cant watch TV and things like that.oh, in an atmosphere like that i could never eat anything! Even when i sit at the dining table i take a chair from where i can view the television!

The answer is yes.I would love to watch news while taking my food.Thats the only time I can hear of whats happening around us.I dont think thats a bad habit either,in fact it saves me some time so that I dont have to waste time for watching news separately.Happy mylotting!

Yes,I do have a habit of watching television while having lunch or dinner.But i really disagree with this point that some guys believe that it is really a bad habit to watch television while having lunch or dinner.But honestly speaking it rejuvenates the mind and makes you feel personally happy while eating.This is only because while having lunch/dinner you may get your favorite food or may not get..at that time its the television that gives you a good company and it slowly distracts you while you have your meals.So,from my point of view its not at all a bad habit to watch a television while having a lunch or dinner.There's also a point that while watching a television your whole concentration will be on the program that is running in television.This may really point out that you are not showing the respect to the food what you are having.This may really trigger upon a debate that its completely a indiscipline shown to the food.So,some people really don't agree with this decision that watching television is permissible while eating.
