do you always get away with things because you're a woman?

Nope. I don't always get away with things because I am a woman. I live in a place where chivalry seems to be dying slowly. I grew up thinking that if I want to survive in a man's world, I should become a tough person, not just a woman. Yes, men would sometimes give their seat to me or sometimes open a door from me, but that doesn't mean I always get away with other things. To get ahead in life, one must work hard, it doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman.

I think there are a lot of proofs now that women could compete with men in all fields - science, medicine, engineering, astronomy, military, politics...name it and there will always be women who excelled in those field. In terms of everyday lives, we tend to give respect to women in general as a show of respect to our mom - we treat other women the way we want our mothers and even our daughters be treated. In answer to your main question I am guilty of using my being a woman when I ride a jam-packed train or bus. I have a quite big tummy that people sometimes presume that I am preggy so sometimes I just make it obvious. But when I will have to compete for a seat with an old person, regardless of his or her gender, i would offer him/her the seat.

Well some times I do and some times I don't, but I believe it's all about who you get after you get in to trouble. If that person is nice then you could get away with what ever you did or if it's a man looking for a women and he likes you then you could get away with what ever you did. Well thats what I think any way.
