How do you start your day?

I always wonder of many to start a day with - there are wide variety of options... Usually people go for a stimulant + a newspaper to start a day with. There are many who would give first priority to daily workout and body building - exercise. How do you do it. I recently started with little bit of yoga daily. The best result I recd. is I am loosing the allergic cold I used to get while encountering dust. I just started it a few days back and I am really receiving the very surprising results, I haven't used my hankie to wipe out my nose since a one whole day but in the same routine. Its great, I mean, I am even feeling fresh these days. Its the very day when I became active and started posting that I started with mylot here. And its great - I mean, usually I am sitting on the desktop PC with a lot of sneezing and coughing. But I feel too good. I wake up early - like at about 5.00 to 5.30 am in the morning and am on the terrace of my home at nearly 5.45 am and have started with the Yoga - Pranayama -to be specific. I have a light music of flute that soothes me along with the yoga, and my morning are horribly fresh! By the Happy Mylotting! ;) Nemo

not much variety in me, in the morning i wake up at 05.30am and then get shower and breakfast, come home at 16.30pm and then get shower and dinner with my wife and have nice conversation with her in the dinning room after that i go to my library room until 21.00 or more, and get sleep.

Well... you did say your whole routine... Thanks. The best part is you do get up at 5.30 am which not all can do... Most run for their job and so they wake up in time... lol. But since you can stay with this routine, you are great... There are people who aspire to have a nice scheduled routine... which you have@ Happy Mylotting Nemo

Hi jassi. Well, as usual, like many, a stimulant is reqd to get up from the bed, right? So, do you have the tea right in your bed? thanks for response. Happy Mylotting. Nemo

Yoga is great. I have been practicing tantra (yoga) for 30 years and it is really great. Lately I learned a local form of energy cultivation called Dugukan and I have been practicing it together with a number of adherents at 4am.

I start my day with the internet. Tell me that I am crazy but that's true. My laptop is there besides me when I am sleeping, and the first thing I do when I open my eyes is by having some puff and checking on my stats in many moneymaking sites. That would be good news and a good start if I find any progression here and there. And sometimes, I checked on my Paypal, who knows there would be some good news. LOL.

LOL...that's great... you are crazy, but nothing is wrong there... you are just cheering yourself up for the morning, which is in fact going to help you for the day, right? Well, as I said, all have various ways, and yours is unique too! Thanks for response. Happy Mylotting!

LOL.. I know.. I know that would be sound crazy, but yeah, that's me. And If you ask me the ritual before I go to sleep, it wouldn't be so much different. LOL. Having a good news to start a day is a good thing to do, Nemo. By doing that you would be able to go through the hard rough day without too many complaining. I do this ritual almost a month and I was very happy all the time, seeing the improving stats, and growing money. LOL.

On office days I wake up at 6am to prepare my stuff, take a bath, fix myself then walk to work. I love my 20 minute walks to the office, by the time I get there I'm slightly sweaty so I always wear a white shirt and bring a nicer blouse for change of clothes. I eat my breakfast in the office, it's free! haha On weekends...I wake up almost always the same time. It depends on how late I stayed up the night before. Yoga sounds nice! Too bad I don't have enough space for it. I jog twice a week after work with my boyfriend to make up for my stagnant lifestyle as a programmer.

Yoga is an excellent way to start the day. I begin with a few yogic exercises which include Pranayama and Surya-Namaskar. It revitalizes both the body and the mind. One thing that's very important in Yoga is regularity...

Everyday, I grow stronger. Another morning, I fight back my tears no matter how hard it hurts. I know that all along I have a pair of invisible wings, to lift me up in flight, leaving despair behind. I won't think these lucky ones will start their days with sunshine. For I see, there is a beauty of changing shade, as the sunset everyday. Maybe, next day, I will start my dat watching all my dreams come into flowers. Next moring, possibly, I will start my day in pursuit of youthful songs. I will start my day riding on the winds, looking in to the distance, flying as far as the wind can takes. I will start my day forgetting the misfortunes, dreaming another dream, facing the tough things. I will start my day working harder, breathing the fresh air, no matter the day is dusty or rainy. This is how I start my day.

Such a bright inspirational start to a day. I am gonna be jealous of that. Your's is such a spiritual way to start a day (well, not religious at all!). You know what? Your writing is such good, almost poetic(or well, poetic, actually) and I am gonna be doing that too... atleast, I'll try to... you know, to feel the self in more and more fortunes, working harder, feeling more fresher air and wind... Thanks for the response. Yours is the best till now. :) Thanks. Happy Mylotting Nemo.

I start with a shower and prayer. Starting with prayer puts a certain perspective into your day that you don't get otherwise. Coffee comes after and if there is time a bit or reading from a really good book. Sitting out on the porch if your porch has a good view is also welcome. Seeing the day start from a porch is a pretty brightening event.

Lol.. Prayer in Shower? lol. Yeah, you are very right about Prayer...and you do need a stimulant. you have mentioned a very punctual sort of routine. Good! Happpy Mylotting Nemo

It varies in the week and weekend- ideally I would have a shower then drink a herbal tea while watching an episode of Scrubs. I would then go for a walk and return home and have porridge.

That sounds good. Maybe I should try yoga. I've never done it before but I've heard it's good to do. I start my day with the usual aches and pains and my head stuffed up, ears hurt and on and on and on. I eat my breakfast, feed the dog and maybe do some cleaning. On some days I don't do much of anything. I just can't seem to get my self motivated to do any kind of exercise. Happy lotting.

Thank you :) Thanks for the response too. No, you are not weird at all, in fact 'you' are 'YOU' and that's all. ;) Don't worry... Waking with nature and a Compu-maniac will definitely even have the breakfast on the computer... lol.. its a new way one can opt for to start the day with... I do that almost all days - but after the Yogic exercise that I do... mostly, unless I am too late for my daily routine. Anyways, Happy Mylotting, Nemo

Well, good strategy to get up if you are feeling too lazy. I used to do the same thing, but for 5.00 am - the second alarm is on 6.30. lol when I really get up. But I doubt this is good - because it doesn't give you an uninterrupted sleep. On a good non-workind day, I suggest you try to get up with just single alarm. Otherwise, your ideal start is good.lol. THanks for the response. Happy Mylotting. Nemo

I start the day by getting right into the shower or else I am grumpy to anyone and everything around me. It wakes me up and refreshes me for the day. After that I just do routine things to get ready and eat and I'm pretty much set after that. Oh, I also check my email. If for some reason I can't check it then it's not a big deal. I check it about 25 times a day.

Well, you are quite true about yourself - a few times, I am grumpy too but that's rare nowadays... Its the best time to check email ie. in the morning, when mostly nobody would email and we can reply at ease. Thanks for the response. Happy Mylotting Nemo

Hi Amag! Perhaps I am responding this first discussion of you! My day starts with a little exercise, then caring for plants in the garden and next starts surfing. Surfing continues upto mid-day in non-working days! How is it? Please say. Thanks for your nice discussion!

Well, many thanks for your response here. The take-off for the day is very good with little exercise, as you say. Next is caring for the garden, which is caring for dear nature. That's great. I don't have a garden to take care of - otherwise I would have done. But then, you surf the net too? How could you sit on Net for hours like this? Is it just mylot or many sites? Thanks for considering the discussion nice lol. *blush* lol. Happy Mylotting Nemo

Many thanks for your reply. Its a great thing you do. I'll be putting an article very soon, which tells that we all desire god of so many things, and he does provide, but we never make it a point to thank him or even acknowledge the receipt of God's grace! You are doing great! I think I am gonna do that too! ;) Happy Mylotting. Nemo.

I happy for you because you start your day right. I often start my day by snoozing the alarm clock of my cellphone so that I can sleep for ten minutes more. I am lazy in getting up every morning especially if there are no classes. I always drink coffee every morning so I can "wake up".:) I'll try yoga so that I'll get rid of allergic cold like the one you had. Thanks for this informative discussion.

Well, just before I started with Yoga, I too used to snooze my alarm and enjoy the sleep for more "9" minutes - to be exact. It was, you know, kinda lazy - but since this allergic cold got to my head, I made it a point to pray to god to help me get up before time and get myself ready for the task I have to do for the day - and it works for me. If you require any help with Yoga, do ask! Thanks for response. Happy Mylotting! Nemo

Hello,Nimo! I start my day with a cup of hot green tea and news paper. After that I do some work in the garden where I have planted some fruits bearing trees and some vegetable plants and of course flower plants.while the first feeds my mind with lots of information the second gives my belly some foods.Besides gardening is a good exercise.thanx.

Thanks for the response, dear! Well, you are certainly doing something great, and UNIQUE! Except for the tea/newspaper. If you have planted some trees and plants and are taking good care of it, you are real good - you do give time to take care of something of nature - what/which is really required. Its great, really! Anyways, Happy Mylotting!

Hi, the very first thing I do in the morning is to say a small prayer for a good day to come ahead. I then have luke warm water with lemon and honey, read newspaper, get freshen up and ready to start off for my office. The best thing that I do in the starting of the day is to walk down to my office. It keeps me healthy and keeps my spirit high........

Very very well. You too say a prayer. That's great, I am gonna add that too... Its such a wonderful feeling to feel pious while worshipping god... I don't know how many do feel this, but I do feel something supernatural while praying god. You yourself, though don't exercise actually, but have found out a good way to freshen yourself up! Great! Thanks for response. Happy Mylotting! Nemo
