Can mothers really sense the danger their children are about to face?

Hi Moms all around , I always feel that mothers get an intuition about their children. They sense the danger early. Not that they can avoid it by knowing it before hand, but it just prepares them well for the future. I sleep well , rather really well. But generally I have a disturbed sleep a day or two before my daughter catches fever. I can sense that she is getting fever 2 days in advance. Cannot avoid it as mentioned above, the next best thing that can be done is that ensure that paracetamol stock is upto the mark. Thats what I do Let me know your views too.

yes its a mother's instinct at work...my almost 3 year old daughter likes to walk outside of our house and to our neighborhoods...i really cannot follow her around because i have two small children to look after to...she always cries upon returning home because she got hurt..or fell down...but i really get worried if she won't return like 20 minutes or so and that is when i have to look for her and bring her home.

Can't you stop her going out? Can't you lock the door or just tell her she can't go? I don't let my 8 year old out of the house, unless someone is with her or I can see where she is going. That is very frightening.

Mother with her son - A picture from Yahoo of a mother with her son.
I would have to say that yes, every now and again I sense something because I feel that I do hold a strong bond with my son who is five years old now. We are together a lot of the time and I feel that I am chief care giver. I am a stay at home mother and I feel that I can have a preconceived idea as to what threats there may be. I just stay on my guard and try to be a good and protective mother.

No, that has never happened to me. I know when they are upset or tired, but not in danger. The most I can work out is when they are about to come down with a cold, because their behaviour changes and they get a little more argumentative.
