How do you organize your files?

I used to have a lot of files lining up my desktop, and I would clean up my desktop every few weeks because it was too full. Nowadays, however, I keep things divided into a few large folders on my desktop (docs, media and junk). The 'junk' folder is mostly used for temporary downloads, and if I decide I want to keep the download, I move it to an appropriate folder. Docs and media are self-explanatory. So, how are your files organized?

My desktop tends to be quite full but I like it this way! I have my yellow folders on the left hand side of the screen and I have all my utility tools on the right hand side of the screen. This enables me to maintain my system easily, you know where everything is. I think I'm pretty organised otherwise as regards my files and folders. Andrew

I only use my desktop for temporary stuff which I would delete or transfer a few minutes after I use them. I have 2 hard drives on my computer. The primary drive, I use only for installed programs. The secondary drive, I use for saving all my files. I have a bunch of pretty well labeled folders in the secondary drive. For my pictures, I have folders that are labeled with dates and a short description of its contents.

My desktop is almost always full. Every now and then usually once in every few months, I would move everything from the desktop to other folders properly sorted out and then the desktop again grows to become full. So that is how my files are organized. Cheers! Ram

I usually divide my files into categories and folders to organize them. I usually organize my files every once in a while when i have nothing to do :D
