Am back from dads Dr. appointment. They did the cystoscope or whatever it is called. They found a few lesions on his bladder. So next Tuesday he is schedulded for surgery to remove those lesions. It will be same day surgery so no biggie for anyone in the family. Now thew stress of getting lab work, a physical, and a CTASCAN set up and done for dad before next Tuesday. What a lousy weekend I had. Discussion to follow. Thanks all. Dad is doing okay and he doesn't even recall being there an hour ago nor recalls that he has to have surgery. Too funny at times. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

Am glad that this is getting taken care of for your dad and I sure hope they are all non cancerous lesions. I guess it is a good thing really that he don't remember all those things that are going on right now.

It seems like the most work is doing everything before the surgery, not the surgery itself or anything afterward. Are you getting help from the rest of your family for taking him where he needs to go? I hate for you to have to do everything by yourself when you are still sick yourself. I'm praying for you guys. : )

No help from anyone. I have made my wife take the day off for some help on surgeru day though. Cancelled a free Anita Baker Concert at the casino though as that won't be financially fit too. I do it all by myself as far as taking him to appointments etc. I have to fill out all the paperwork etc. Stress I tell ya. Being a caregiver gets to be so stressful at times. But the rewards at times outweigh that end. Thanks bunches friend. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

I can't help looking at the positive side of your dad not remembering anything from his surgery and being in the hospital with the doctor...At least it didn't him anymore anxious or worry too much. I hope all goes well. Your weekend Grandpa Bob maybe lousy but a lot of people in my country would tread places with you in a heartbeat just to be able to bring their sick for treatment. God bless to you and your family!

Thank you so much once again friend. I doubt that I would trade places actually. This caring for my dad is stressful, but also very rewarding at the same time. Thanks again. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

It is so amazing what can be done these days, I mean a few years ago those sorts of things would have struck fear in peoples hearts and treatments were hard and not like they are now. I cannot believe that he will be in and out the same day, its absolutely amazing.

yeah years ago this would have been a major surgery procedure too more than likely. It is same day surgery. In at 11. Suirgery at 1. Out by about 4p.m. Yippy! But it would be nice to be away from him for a week or so. Haha! Stress you know? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

I can imagine yes, I know how hard working as a carer is having done it myself for a few years, but when it is family it is even harder.

Well I hope all goes well with the surgery, its good that its a same day thing and won't add much more stress on you and the family. Its probably good that he doesn't remember what happened, or about the surgery because if he knows then it will probably be hard to get him to go, if he's anything like my grandpa was, he was a rascal..lol. I'll be praying for him...

oh!! it's really hard when we are getting older, people are forgetful but it helps sometimes so that they don;t need to worry about what will happen next and what had happened before that. lol.. just hope that everything would be ok with that surgery.

it better stop the problem. Hahahaha! they will scrape/burn the lesions off. Those cause irritation which in turn make him bleed. So once removed the bleeding should stop. Thanks again friend. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

From the view the Dr saw with the scope it doesn't appear to be cancer. Just a few minor lesions is all that he stated. I am doing so-so I guess. HAHA! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

Those memory lapses can be a blessing sometimes. Good to hear that it doesn't seem to be anything bad and he can get it done so quickly. I'm sure it'll be quite a stressful time for you to get all of that set up and getting him there, too. We'll keep praying for all of you!

I really would be worried if one member of my family would need surgery since I am such a worrying person xD. But I am glad you dad doesn't has something serious and that he is getting fine and is just better. Although I wouldn't like to go through something like that xD, I'd faint at the spot. Well I really don't know since I have never been in that situation. Actually I think the only reason I went to the hospital was to check my uncles new baby. Yeah no surgeries or seriouse stuff xD. I didn't saw my uncle's wife give birth, so that been a surgery doesn't count for me xD, I just went to check out the baby and how his wife was doing =D.

Did they give dad any type of sedation? If they gave him something called Versed then that has an amnesiac in it and it makes people forget the procedure all together.

I'm glad it's going to be a rather simple surgery. I hope he makes a quick recovery. I'm sorry to hear he can't remember much. I know it's sad most of the time.
