Working hard and getting no where?

Do you ever feel this way? I have been working really hard at redbubble and just haven't seen any rewards yet. It just gets old after awhile. I know I just need to stick with it and keep going but sometimes it is just easier to give up. I won't give up but the temptation is there. Have you ever felt like giving up?

It seems like I have been feeling that way for the past 18 years or so. We just cannot get ahead and the economy is really scaring me.

Me too. I am fighting the economy for sure cause people just aren't spending money like they used to. Here is one of the pics I have been working on today.

That is really nice. I just did a post on gather a couple days ago to see what others were doing to make extra income and it looks like we are all in the same boat. However there were several work at home companies that are legit.

If you give up then what? Just sit around being miserable and eventually you go broke. And starve. I think this is the very reason we are here on myLot. Trying to make that extra money to make the ends meet. I have been there though. I am always motivated by my daughter. Have to keep going for her so I do. I have to keep it going for my own well being and peace of mind. Been in a slump lately? A lot of us are believe me..

Ummmm..... not really. My "work" consists of sitting in a coffee shop, going on sites like MyLot and Gather to make extra money, and doing a little better than breaking even (I drink coffee anyway, and it's cheaper to come here than to use the internet at home). LOL I guess I'm one of the lucky ones

kitty cat - This is a pic of one of the neighborhood cats on our back fence before we replaced the fence.
This is a look at one of the things I do during a day of "work". I don't punch in on a time clock either but we both work hard even if at different things.

Yah, I'm not very active on RedBubble. I joined, submitted some stuff, then just sort of quit visiting. I've been meaning to get back into it, but like you I didn't really feel like the work I was putting into it was paying off. I'm sure the more you work at it, the more you get involved in the community- make friends, comment on others works, join groups, etc. then the more rewards you'll be seeing. It can be difficult establishing a name for yourself at first, but don't give up! If you are feeling burnt out on RedBubble, I would recommend spreading yourself out and join some other online art communities. I would highly recommend both deviantart.com and viewbug.com. If you want a site that has immediate rewards, I would highly recommend http://www.skillfights.com/signup?ref=294 Anytime you participate on that site, you earn points. Whether you create a fight, vote in a fight, rate a photo, leave a comment, post on the forum, whatever you earn points! You can view your points at any time by going to the User Panel. Every 1,000 points equals $1. Once you earn $5, you can cash out your earnings into your PayPal account. It's very easy to rack up points! Just sign up, and start voting, commenting, rating, and submitting your photos! If you're feeling down and want a site which offers you instant rewards, I would highly recommend this one!

Grrrrl, if you give up that soon why even try. Things like that are not a get-rich scheme and success doesn't happen by itself. First you put up your lovely pictures and then you will need to promote them broadly, yourself in order to see any results, don't you think? Hang in there. No, I never feel like giving up. That would be counterproductive. I might change my mind and go in another direction, but that is not the same as giving up. Maybe you are trying to do too much all at once and not thinking it through. Your goal cannot just be to get some money fast. You need to have a broader goal and a plan for how to achieve it :-) Good luck!

Pardon my ignorance. What is Redbubble? What do you do there? Do you earn something from it?

If you are at legitimate place to work hard your hard work will be rewarded later or sooner and you have to maintain your patience so that you are not overpowered by your emotions and thinking that even with hard work you are not been cared for or rewarded for. Just have a positive approach and every thing will be alright.

Yes of course. There are situation I have given up and there are situation I have come over it. The most recent example is myLotting. At the beginning it was borring and not getting a good income further. I was about to give up. Then at one point I thought that I should add more interest and respond to any discussion on the list which I think is nice. Now I have got the rythem of it and I responds a lot. You should never give up anything in life. You must try to the last blood. Even if you couldn't acheive the target at least you end up by getting more experience. We should not let the sense of laziness to put ourselves back.

If your not having any success at one site, add others~ the same products that you offer on Redbubble might well do better on a site with a different audience or a better marketing scheme. I do much better on Zazzle than on Redbubble, even though I offer much the same stock: my art prints, mugs, T-shirts and poster all sell on Zazzle, but they don't seem to move on RB. Cafepress and other sites are also worth investigating, and it is a good idea to find a site that isn't too far away from your location...or the location of your customers: otherwise shipping costs can exceed product costs and ruin your sales. I live in Australia, and use my website at http://www.davidrichphotography.org to direct local sales to Imagekind and US customers to Zazzle or redbubble Why limit yourself to one outlet, especially if it isn't working for you?
