CNN reported today that "Osama bin Laden is no longer believed to be the head of al Qaeda's day-to-day operations, but the United States' capturing or killing him would still have a powerful effect on the organization" After the 9/11 the World did not remain the same. Do you think that Bin Laden will ever be captured? Do you think his capture would help in the battle against terrorism?

hi, i don't and we don't hope ben laden ever be caught. hope americans won't see this posts. no offence, i'm just telling the whole truth here. most of the chinese regard him as a sort of hero, brave enough to challenge US, such a mighty nation.

Being American and a Military Vetran, I could soooo go off on this post. But I won't. I realize with all the different countries represented on Mylot, there had to be some out there from countries who hate us. Besides we have some strange ideas about the Chinese anyway. We pretty much only hear horror stories about how you are treated over there by your government. And we kind of hope it's true, because if you are busy fighting each other over there then you won't come after us. Cause good God if China decided to go after the US it seems like they could pretty much crush us. So I don't even understand why you think Bin Laden was brave when it seems you could beat us if you attacked.

um, not only ben laden causes tragedies, the government itself is sacrificing folks' benefit more and control the people for its purpose. every control class does the same. i must admit, in my opinion, even so, your government is doing better for its people compared to mine , the main reason is we are led by one government, no competition here. if you have chance to visit china or to ask any chinese around you about their attitude on this attack, you will learn most of them tell the same story if they are brave enough to tell you the truth instead of flattery. and i believe we regard him as a sort of hero due to several reasons like they find it amazing, and among them, there are some people who are glad to see others' trouble. but above all, i warn you, maybe this word is too harsh, that almost none chinese really hate US , let alone its people. no hatred at all. we do hate japanese ! Fact is, you can learn it from your friend who ever paid a visit to chian, foreigners esp. american receive warm welcome and treated friendly by us.

I think also it wouldn't matter if he got caught. Not only would he be a martyr like James said, but he would also be replaced by someone else. Terrorist are born and bred over there. For everyone that kills themselves in a sucide mission there's another to take their place. I still do hope he gets caught though. I think it's awful what he's done.

I doubt very much that he will ever be caught. He is way too protected for anyone to even get near to him let alone arrest him. The way Saddam was caught pretty quickly shows the differences between these two men and it is not even confirmed 100% that bin Laden is even still alive. Even rewards of $20+ million dollars for information have fallen on deaf ears. And if they WERE to one day catch him? I don't think this would have any major impact on terrorism activities at all. If anything it would further the cause because he would be seen as a martyr.

They may say that he is no longer the head of the organization, but I truly believe that he still has a lot of influence on their actions. So yes, I do believe that it would help greatly in the battle against terrorism. Though I have my doubts that he will ever be killed or captured.

i am not sure i believe that he will ever be caught.. and if he is i think it will be so far in the future that people wont see it as an big of a deal as if it was today (as in if he was 100 years old or something) i do think it would help the fight against terrorism but we also have to remember that there are a lot of terrorist that arent totally or even influenced by him so it wouldnt solve anything.. he just seems to be the prize in a treasure hunt that im not convinced we will ever find..

Honestly I really doudt it! Mostly because we are not looking for him! Bush pretended he was going to get him but used that as a diverson to go after what he really wanted the oil!
