I never gave my son any pain relievers until he was at least 9 months old. He didn't have the need for it, he was never sick and didn't cut any teeth until later. I give him Tylenol when he has a fever or when he is cutting teeth if it is really bothering him.

My daughter is 4 1/2 now. When she was younger, like in the newborn, infant, and toddler stages, we only gave her pain reliever once and that was actually to reduce her fever at the recommodation of our doctor. We had to give her some this week, as she had a bad cold with a fever. I personally don't like giving small children medicine unless they need it or the doctor recommends it.

My kids never took pain relievers until they were at least 9 months old. After they were 9 months old the only time they get pain relievers is when they get shots and when they have a fever because the pain relievers bring down their fever too.

that is good, i believe there is risk in giving pain reliever to kids, like someone says it causes asthma but my doctor prescribed one for my baby and nothing was wrong with even at birth.

When I was younger we had children's tylenol, and then adult tylenol, but only when we had really bad heaches, or fevers, and there were the special ones for relief of flu symptoms and allergy symptoms. My mother was very good about only giving them to us when we absolutely needed them, and no other time.
