With all that's been happening on the financial markets do you play the stock market ? Would you continue to do this in the face of the recent crashes ?

I've just started dabbling in this within the last couple of months. Decided to invest about hundred pounds every month in a portfolio. I know there's alot of economic problems all around the globe at the moment so I thought now would be a good time to take advantage of this and hopefully make a profit. Although I think when entering the stock market you have got to be prepared to lose the lot and not invest what you will need in the near future. My theory was half my assets would be held in UK equity and the rest scattered across the world in south america, russia, china and india emerging markets. Everywhere seems to be suffering at the moment but by investing an amount every month I am limiting the amount of risk I am taking.

I don't play a real stock market, but I play on a fantasy one online to have fun with it and to learn more about the stock exchange. It hasn't been a good time for it recently, but it's not real money that I use, so it's all a learning experience for me.

I've never played the stock market, but I would like to one day when I have some extra money to dabble with. I don't see that happening anytime soon though so sadly the only playing I can do will be at motley fool with fake money.

No, but I have a portfolio I just have never seen it. My grandfarther invests for all his grandchildren. My grandmother hates it because she thinks its to similar to gambling and gambiling it the devils game in her book :)
