I have been using Ubuntu, a Linux based operating system for more than a year. And I find it very nice, not to mention that it is free. The word Ubuntu is all about humanity. It all about sharing unlike other software that you still have to buy from the developer. And when you buy them you still have to buy antivirus and other applications to run you computer. Doesn't that ring a bell? Shouldn't these stuff be free for all humanity? What do you think?Oh and by the way, there are also forums where you can ask help or question regarding it. Happy mylotting guys..

I have used many Operating Systems like Microsoft Windows, Redhat, Mandrake, Solaris, Ubuntu, Knoppix, Slax, e.t.c. I found Linux (all distributions) very very secure, efficient, dependable & most value things is that major distributions are distributed freely. I used Ubuntu recently. Yet not very much dependable but a good one. I someone ask me to rate Ubuntu, i will give 7 out of 10. Currently i am using Ubuntu with Microsoft Windows as a second Operating System. Microsoft Windows is just because i am making Accounting Software in Visual Basic for my client. Hopes that Ubuntu will improve much much more...

Wow that's cool! I don't think I can stand using Ubuntu as a primary operating system. Some few software titles are compatible with it and where goes productivity then? I think I will still stick to windows (XP XP XP) for now. NO VISTA. That l*mp of sh*t!

I use windows os. So far i have used different varieties of windows operating system only, I used linux also once. but in our country its hard to get connected to the internet using linux operating system. Hence, I always had to use windows. I can browse very easily and comfortably using this operating system. It is user friendly, and I suppose linux based os is also the same. And as far as I am concerned windows is not free, it costs. Earlier I had windows-98, then windows-2000 and now windows-xp. But I donot want to use windows vista, because many of my friends told me not to upgrade to vista as it has many faults. Hence, I am just continuing with xp which is very easy and comfortable for me.

Well i dont like anyother operating system than microsoft, may be because it easy to use, easily available, anybody can solve your problems.... And in addition I have used most of them from microsoft like 95, 98, millenium, xp, and vista..... Out of all this i love xp because it is compatible with all the programmes and one of the best.... Well vista has got the look og=f its own but the problem is speed , vista slower downs the speed of your pc drastically, anyways best security n look it has got.... So because of that I have found one new addition called microsoft dark edition.... I guess very few people will be knowing about it.... It is the Thai update of xp and it has got the looks of vista with the same speed of xp.... I m using it sinse past 8 months and havent found any trouble at all....

I am currently using Windows XP on my old notebook and Vista Ultimate on my new notebook. I have not considered Linux since I am not sure whether I could get all my applications running on it. I use my notebook for work and therefore, I have to use certain applications. There are a few of these applications are designed to run on Microsoft OS only and that's why I have not been able to consider Linux as my OS even though that I have heard lots of good stuffs from people who are using it. May be if I could get another computer that would only be used at home, I might go for Linux instead of Windows especially as you mentioned above where Linux can be obtained and used for free. So why pay when we can get something for free and I do not think that Linux is not as capable as Windows when it comes to the operating system. Cheers!

I've been using Windows XP pretty much since it came out. It fits most of my needs for work and gaming, apart from not supporting directx 10. I also have Vista on my laptop, and I am not considering changing from XP at the moment. I've heard that Ubuntu is a good OS but I doubt I'll ever try using it.

I'm currently using Windows Vista. As the first poster said, every computer I have ever owned as used one form of Windows or another. I've never really had the desire to use any other OS honestly. Well, I take that back. Just not a strong enough desire to use anything else since I like and am so used to Windows.
