I have to share the funny thing my cat did last night!

As I have said before I have four inside cats, Murphy, my lynx point Siamese that is a grand ole lady of the group at 15 years old, then Dinglebeary who is a Maine Koon cat and is 7 years then the babies of the clan: Khuay and Willy. They are flame point Siamese and real characters. Khuay is the one that seems to outshine the rest in being absolutely nuts! He shreds paper and cardboard boxes (I'm sure he's looking for hidden microphones or microfilm! LOL! We swear he's an ex C.I.A. agent!!! LOL) Since he not only shreds but thieves I have to make sure that things that I want to find are secure before I go to bed. I recently took up needle felting, and all that soft wool is just too tempting for a year old cat like Khuay. Well last night I was putting away my project with Khuay right next to my hands trying to get to the wool. I shooed him away and he backed up on the table, and backed up, and backed up and backed right into my cup of tea. His hind foot went all the way up into the elbow!! I figured that he would knock the cup over but he jumped straight up and off the table and didn't knock anything off the table!!! That momentary flash of expression on his face when he stepped in the tea was priceless...it was kind of an "Oh my gosh, what's got me??" He's a jumpy sort, he can walk up to my feet and be checking them out and if I move even my little toe he jumps sky high! He came into the bathroom one day and I happened to move my foot and he jumped straight up and landed into the bathtub!! I always get a laugh or four out of that character every day, from falling out of bed to his jumping sky high when something unexpectedly moves, he is defiantly a favorite out of the herd. What's the funniest thing your cat has done lately???

My food bills are enormous for my critters. I have the four inside cats plus I have three outside cats that adopted my home and are slowly reverting from being wild. Then I have two mini Dachshunds. One of the outside cats is 17 years old so I give him canned food along with the dry food that I give the other two. I buy three bags of cat food a month and one dog food. Plus there is three bags of kitty litter per month. Talk about broke! But I wouldn't give them up for the world. I would so horribly miss having all my herd around me. Each one gives me such delight. Ralphie, the oldest feral cat is 17 years old. When I go out the door he is instantly between my legs. He's learned to walk between my legs, and I am careful how I walk with him there---I kind of look like a duck waddling down the sidewalk! (LOL) Groucho and Harpo (I think they're sisters...I discovered that a bit late...) and they are slowly accepting my touching them. Last week the two of them greeted each other, snuggled and their tails formed a heart. I worry that if something happened to one of them that the other would die from heartbreak. Our companion animals are always doing something funny to make our lives happier, and it's always hard to think of one funny thing they do...because it seems like as soon as we finish laughing at one incident they manage to do something else. Enjoy your companions and hug them all for me.

LOL! I know what you mean, I would always see to my animals needs , & food before I buy things for myself, they are very dear to me, If I had a place back out in the country and more money I'd have a lot more pets too (G)! I don't know how you walk with that cat in between your legs OH MY!! I'd be flat faced on the ground for sure; in fact when I'm out at my Dads I walk with an old broom handle for a walking stick, it helps me keep my balance on the rough ground and "pets" out from under my feet, I feel last year and still not 100% healed I have bone fractures in both feet/ankles are always swollen, but was supposed to be off my feet for like 6weeks++ **snort** I have pets to see to at the farm and a 81 year old Father, I cannot be off my feet, so its taken a long long time and some days are worse than others, ( pain wise) on the old feet... after all they have quite a load here to keep upright...LOL!

I'm not a cat person, but I have 2 ferrets. Molly- Sable colored, very hyper, the thief, and Emma-Mostly white, lazy, very mushy. I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea and had to start cpap therapy. Every 3 months, the DME (durable medical equipment) supplier mails me a new mask and hose. The hose is a thick grey plastic, kind of ribbed and 6 feet long. Anyway, my son LOVES to play with the hoses when their time is up. He usually plays with them in the bath tub. So now my point; It was fairly early one morning and I was just getting my coffee, washing up for the day, etc. Molly was running around like the maniac she is. All of a sudden I hear the oddest noise. Molly had taken the hose out of the tub and took off across the house (picture 1-1.5 foot ferret vs 6 feet of plastic!). She tried hiding it under the entertainment center, but couldn't get it all under. So then she tried her cage but it was getting stuck. She finally settled on playing with it, and I think the hose won!

I love it!!! I can just see your ferret trying to hide six feet of hose!!! It has made my day thinking about it! It reminds me of Khuay and the tub. I woke up one morning hearing the oddest noise, It was a thump, thump, thump, THUD. I got out of bed and crept up to the bathroom door and peeked in. Khuay was in the tub chasing his tail! He would let it go, twitch it and then chase it until he caught it. When he caught it he would collapse with it in his mouth. I laughed until I cried over his antics that morning. I know several people with ferrets, and would love to have one myself but unfortunately I travel too much so taking care of them is problematic at best. I also have thought about getting sugar gliders, but again it's the traveling that kind of puts a damper on having exotic pets. I do know that all my friends that have ferrets absolutely love them and have more fun with the antics that these wonderful creatures come up with. Maybe Khuay is related!!! He swiped my pocket calculater and hid it. I went nuts looking for it because I needed it for class...I finally found it last night hidden under his favorite sleeping spot.

Poor Oreo fell out of the window one night. He must have been asleep. He looked totally stunned. But I'm sure he didn't find it at all funny!

Have you ever noticed that when a cat does something so totally stupid they look around to see if anyone is watching? Then they sit down and try to look cool like they planned to do the stupid stunt and then they wash. Sometimes watching them trying to be cool after the mishap is funnier than the mishap to start with. I always thought that cats didn't sleep really soundly, but they do. That's when they fall out of windows or off the bed. Khuay was sleeping so soundly that when he rolled over and fell out of bed on the dog he never woke up!! I had to pick him up off the dog and set him back on the bed!!! I about laughed myself sick over that stunt. He woke up after I put him back on the bed, and looked around like it was only a dream. He couldn't figure out why the dog was sitting up staring at him like he woke the dog up deliberately!! He ignored all of us and rolled over and went back to sleep!

I had to laugh out loud while I was reading your post. :-) Sounds like you've got a mischievous group of furbabies there! I have three indoor cats, all of them rescue kitties. The youngest of the group, Cheeto (since he's orange), is probably the funniest of them all. Of the three, he's the only one who'll actually play with my two year old son. My little boy likes to carry around a ribbon to entice Cheeto to play with him. One minute, my son is trailing the ribbon around saying "meow" with no cats in sight, and the next minute Cheeto comes charging into the room attacking the ribbon. It's funny as all get-out. :-)

I had a Siamese that loved bubble baths! I had come home from work one night and was soo tired and sore that I decided the only thing that would help was a bubble bath. I ran the bath with plenty of bubbles, went to get my cup of tea, by the time I came back there was Charlie sitting in the middle of the tub with bubbles towering all around him with this very happy look on his face. From then on we fought to see who would get in the bubble bath first!

He sounds like a relative of my Willy (a flame point Siamese). When Willy meows he screws up his face like he sucked a lemon! It is so funny to see how he screws up his face just to say something. I figure that it must be something very important! (LOL)

That made me laugh, I have such a wild imagination that I can just picture how your cat looked like when he stepped in the tea cup. lol. ^_^ Alas, I do not own a cat well my landlady doesnt allow pets in our apartments so it kinda sucks. I would really want to own one, you know to keep me company (I live alone T_T) and make those silly things that would brighten up my day and at night when I come home from work there'll be a furry little friend waiting for me and snuggle besides me. That would be nice. *sigh*
