Do you have weird rules while shopping?

Well, not necessarily "weird", but more like....well I'm not sure how more like something else. But, here's one of my rules: Don't spend more than 30 bucks on a pair of jeans. Does that seem odd? I want to pull it down to even 20 bucks, but then I'd never get new jeans right? How about yourself? Any rules when you go shopping?

Yeah, I do the same thing. No, it doesn't seem odd. Some people have to watch their money and sometimes personal limits are necessary when shopping. It's not impossible to buy a new pair of jeans for 20 or 30 bucks, either. Old Navy has great prices on jeans. This is one reason I love shopping with them. You can get cute clothes for low prices, especially if you catch a sale. Now, if you're looking for something a little more fancy or designer, then you're probably not going to find any new jeans at all within that range. I just bought a new pair of jeans on sale from Old Navy and got them for about 25 dollars, which includes the 7.99 shipping fee. (I have to shop online because I rarely have access to a car.) I am the same as you, though. I wouldn't pay more than about 35 dollars for a pair of jeans. I would't pay more than 30 or 35 for a shirt. Shoes are tricky, though, because I will splurge on a good pair of shoes, but I will also buy cheap shoes on sale at places like Shoe Carnival to wear as everyday shoes.

You'd be surprised at the amount of cute stuff and nice clothes you can get without "breaking" your shopping rules. Recently, my mom took me shopping at Lane Bryant and I got about 8 shirts that normally would have cost 350 dollars combined, with retail prices of 39.99 or 44.99. We caught a big clearance sale and got them for about half price, spending only about 180 dollars. For clothes, shopping at the end of the season is a good way to get good deals. You might not be able to wear it long before the seasons change, but you'll have it for the next season.

Right on! that's the way I see it too. Lucky for me though, when I have party time (Going out, getting glammed up and such) I get to wear the trendy stuff then as well.

OH! I am the same way for shoes! if they're cute, cheap, happen to be my size, I'll get em! But, since I am on my feet all day, I will splurge for a VERY comfy shoe. and yeah, paying more than 30 bucks for a shirt is just silly. I'm also an online shopper haha. Thanks for responding and happy myLotting!

Maybe it's because I really don't like to shop, that I follow one simple rule. If I can't easily find a very convenient parking space, the Universe doesn't want e to go there, so I leave!

I usualy only go out if there is a god sale going on. I am not too concerned with price as long as I know I am getting a better deal then the ticked price. I am particualr about where I shop and what I get. There are only certain places I will shop for my clothes and certain items I shop for.

I do not fix or make rules while shopping. It is open ended and we buy what we like. However I do not spend more on the things which are seldom used and remained lying in the corner of the room. I like good attractive things but useful. I do not fix budgets for shopping and we shop when we feel it necessary. No hard and fast rule.

Good response, and that is true. But my question was more so what would be acceptable spending habits on a particle of clothing, but I'll accept this answer as well. THERE ARE NO WRONG ANSWERS EITHER WAY...whoops, sorry, hit the caps lock, didn't mean to yell ha ha. Happy myLotting!

i don't have such rules unless the stuff is really expensive. I usually try to compare the quality and the price before i purchase the stuff.

And that's the way to do it! Oddly enough I find it ironic that the less cloth an article of clothing has, the higher the price.

yeah, also, I tend to KNOW my jean sizes in every possible way, as well as sometimes get a size or 2 larger than what I wear, and wear a belt if I have to, OR, god forbid, they shrink in the washer and dryer. ha-ha
