Today I walked into to work a little late, I do data entry, and discovered that the girl who sits next to me has pink eye. Now I was still pleasant but the whole time I was just hoping that I wouldn't get pink eye. I was completely disgusted by the whole event. Finally she just decided to go home, and let me just say I was relieved.

Well they used to say tha if you looked someone straight in the eye that had pink eye that you would catch it.That saying comes from the fact that it is almost that contagious. She shouldn't have even been at work. Better known as conjunctivitis, it is highly contagious and here is a home remedy for it. Cut a potatoe in half and scrape the flesh part gently with a spoon and get the liquid. Drop it in your eye and it will clear it up. I know sounds a little primitive and painful but it works!

Isn't it only contagious through contact? Like if she rubbed her eyes, touched the keyboard, then you touched the keyboard, and then rubbed your eyes? In livestock it is generally spread by flies.

Pink eye is very contagious, I had it so bad once I had to go to the doctor he gave me some ointment to put in my eye. It was so bad I couldn't open my eyes. When I went to sleep I had to put vaseline on my eye lid so that I could open it. My skin even turned black under my eye. After it went away I still had problems out of the eye for a while. Most companies will not let an employee with pink eye work.

I hate when people come to work with something contagious. At schools they can make kids go home for pink eye, but probably not at work. At work it is probably considered discrimination or something stupid. One girl at our work actually had a barf bucket at her desk while she was pregnant. I can't believe what pregnant people can get away with. One week it was really bad and her husband caught the morning sickness, which ended up being the flu that week. It was a nightmare working with a pregnant woman and I swear I will quit if I ever have to experience such an ordeal again. Although unfortunately the little things add up too and it's not like I could quit over every jerk I work with who has gotten me sick. But I definitely could never tolerate a pregnant woman again after that.
