Do you send more text messages then make actual phone calls?

I was just watching my local news which included a brief segment about iphones. At the end of the segment they said that the average American text more then they make calls. Personally, I don't text at all. But what about you? Do you send more text messages or make more phone calls?

LOL! My kids do, but not I! It takes me too long to find the letters plus I am not up on all the "correct text lingo". I would rather just call. For me it is easier.

I find it easier to just make phone calls too.

i send more text messages, because i love to send quotes, and everyday greetings, like goodmorning , take care etc...but if it is important i use actual phone callls, and sometimes i make calls cause i want to hear the voice of the person i miss.

I agree, it is nice to hear a person's voice sometimes, especially if it is someone you miss.

The truth is that I don't use my cell phone very much at all, either for calling or texting. I have texted before but I am not that fond of it. I do not send text messages at all anymore because I am on a prepaid cell phone plan and to adding text message service to my plan would cost more. I see no point in an added expense for something I don't care to use. If you enjoy it and/or it is more efficient for you to text, that is fine.

I just exceeded my credit limit for making more text messages via mobile phone rather than make phone calls using the landline phone, maybe for some reason that whenever I am out..it is the one i used to bring with me, and because my boyfriend is also at work and can't attend to lengthy telephone calls, we prefer to send text messages..we'll just have to make sure that we clearly understand what we are saying..hehe

Yes, it is good to make sure you clearly understand what each other is saying, hehe. Myself, I do not even have a landline phone. I don't want to have to pay for both a landline and a cell phone and if I am only going to choose one, I prefer to have a cell phone, that way I am not stuck at home on days when I am expecting an important phone call or something like that. Still, I do not text message, but that is just a personal choice of mine. Thanks for responding and happy mylotting!

I DO! I mainly only have my cell for emergencies. Although I do have friends in the states that I can't call because of long distance so I just text them.

I use one of my cellphones to text my son and the other phone to make calls but I text more than call anyone.

I prefer talking to the person directly on the phone rather than text. Texting takes too long and isn't it more money to text? I would rather hear the persons voice. In my opinion, texting is too impersonal.

Personally, I don't like any type of messages... Like you, I'd rather talk to someone... But because of my work issues, I do send & receive a lot of messages... I have blackberry so not only do I get text messages, I get emails on my phone as well... There's not a single day goes by without me getting some sort of a message or email...

I can see where texting might be handier in some situations, such as work or something.

Well, in the Philippines, it's cheaper to text than to call, so i do text more than call.

I send more text messages than making phone calls. For one, it is a lot cheaper than the latter. and through texting, i could express my thoughts better than saying it on a call; maybe because i find a hard time hearing the person on the other line. but of course i still make phone calls, especially video calls whenever my boyfriend is away.

Yes, I send more text messages then calling any one. I rarely call any one , it is only my friends or any one who call me but not the other way round. Sending sms is cheap in our country and does not cost when compared to making calls. However, I do make calls only when it is really necessary and it is required, else sending an sms interests me a lot and many of my friends too send me many sms per day. this is the way i am always in touch with my friends or any one else.

If it is cheaper to text in your country, then that makes perfect sense.

I'm used to send text messages a lot. No less than 20/day. Filipinos are fond of texting. We purchase unlimited text messaging, so we maximize its use before it expires :P

I like to talk to the person I'm communicating with. I think it's better that way ans you also don't have any misunderstandings which are so common when I do text -.-

Yes, that is true.

I text all the time. I don't really call anyone or recieve calls unless their from home. Every once in awhile I will call someone but usually that's not often unless I have no other way to get in touch with the person I need to get in touch with.

Here in the Philippines, text is much cheaper that's why people text a lot more than make a call. I do text a lot but since my mobile network offers unlimited text and call, i used both... When I was in abroad call is much cheaper than text so people used it more often na me too, I'd rather call than text.:)
