Oh Sandymay16, i like durian very much. Malaysia also have lots of durian and if origin from Penang, it is much more famous, there is where i am staying now. . I do have counterpart from US and some of them like the durian very much. For those who can't stand the smell, they are like your statement, yucks! Overall, it still depends on individual. So for those like Durian, enjoy that more, for those still not yet try, is a great experience to test that. For those don't like that, better run far far away when suddenly smell it.

I've never tried that fruit, but I have heard of it. I'm pretty sure my younger sister has tried it because she loves trying new and different fruit. - vanonas www.thelendingstory.com

Hi sandymay, durian is the seasonal tropical fruit in my country. It is one of my favorite local fruits. I’m a huge fan of durian. So to me, both the smell and the taste of it are like heaven. Once I get the heavy and unique aroma of it I couldn’t help but hurry to the fruit stall and get some to entertain my appetite. I always prefer to pick the good quality fruits which price are comparative high. The flesh of the good quality fruit is usually milky and smooth and tasty as well in yellow color. I won’t feel sick to take durian daily and could take them as my meals. What's more we could enjoy eating this fruit only during the fruit season. It is available twice in a year. As it is rich in vitamin B so we have to take more water after eating it. I would like to take more mangosteens after eating durian and we believe this could help to reduce the inner heat of our body so we won’t get sick easily after taking lots of durian. Happy posting and have a nice day.

I never got to the point where I consider durian smelling nasty. I liked the strong smell and I like the fruit too especially if it is chilled. There are many kinds of durian and some taste stronger than others. Cheers!!

I have tasted durian and I couldn't take the stench. I didn't even finish a mouth full, I only had a very thin strip of it. I didn't like it at all. I think it's an acquired taste for many people :) Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Durian is one of my mother's favorite. I also have tasted that but I can only take in few seeds because it's high in uric acid and it triggers high blood. It is best when it is served as shake or when it is made into an ice cream. YUMMY!
