Does anyone have any suggestions for Mystery Series books? For example, I love all the Evanovich books and would like to start reading another series in that genre. What are your favorites?

Hi, I enjoy crime detection stories as well as murder mysteries. I used to read Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie's. Now it's Ed McBain, Ruth Rendell, Anne Perry, Elizabeth George and the Kellermans. All these are about crimes and murders!

I also recommend the Agatha Christie novels. Highly-entertaining and it would really make you think of who killed who. Something to that effect. She is one of my favorite mystery novel author because she captures every details clearly. And it would make you feel like you are there with Hercule Poirot in unraveling the truth and the lies that covers it.

As far as mystery series are concerned, I like the number one ladies detective agency by Alexander McCall Smith. It's set in Zimbabwe and about a woman private detective who runs her own agency. She doesn't always deal with murders (although she's had her share). Cheating spouses, missing children, you name it all occur within the series. I don't much like mysteries, but I like this one.

I used to read all the Mary Roberts Rhinehart (Rinehart?) mysteries. Currently I have been reading mysteries in the Christian mystery genre. I just finished two good ones by Hilda Stahl.

Well, I can only suggest the Classic, which is Sherlock Holmes, although not all the stories are necessarily murder mysteries, but are definitely detective fiction. What about Agatha Christie? The mysteries w/ Monsieur Poirot are pretty good.
