I have a brother that keeps getting in trouble with the law. Mostly smaller incidents but, regardless, he is not obeying the law! Well, I get into arguments with my mother evcerytime it happens. She is always there to bail him out. This is obviously not working. He has not learned his lesson because he keeps ending up back in jail! Why doesn't she see this and let him sit and maybe uh...learn a lesson? What would you do?Do you agree with me? Would you be able to let your child sit in jail? Thanks for reading.

I'm not sure I would. I may the first time it happens if they seem pretty scared and they know that they did do something wrong. However, if it keeps happening, I think I'd have to let them sit in jail for awhile. I mean, jail is there for a reason. It's to teach people lessons and to keep the bad people off the streets. So I think the first time it's a freebie but after that, they don't get any freebies.

once would be enough for me. if it was continious then obviously he has not learned his lesson. so no, i would not bail him out for the second time. i'd be like that is it.

It would depend on the circumstance and then only once. I think we coddle our children too much and sometimes they need to learn hard lessons. That is what we have dicussing on my post, "when do you make your children leave home"
