How do you like your steak?

Do you want it rare which is almost raw and you can still see and almost taste the blood of your steak? Or do you want it well done and very cooked, or you want it in the middle? As for me, I am not a steak eater unlike my husband. He likes Angus Beef very much but unlike most men, he does not want it bloody but very well done. We don't usually eat steak though because it's too expensive so I just satisfy his craving by cooking home made beef steak.

i love my steak to be rare, very red inside. also my hamburgers have to be the same way. the meat just has a better flavor that way. when it is cooked with not eve nany pink left or over cooked it just tastes bad to me and not tender how steak is supposed to be.

Well, I agree with you that the longer you cook the beef, the harder it gets. But I still think that it still depends on who and how it is being cooked for the satisfaction of the eater. And we just really differ when it comes to preferences in food. If you know that it is still safe to eat, and of course you do since you won't be eating it if you have the slightest hint that it's not safe, then you have all the right to enjoy it however rare it is

i like my steak well done.. i don't want to eat anything bloody.. i also believe that bacteria that may be present in the meat is completely removed if you cook it well..

I agree with you though sometimes steam may be enough to kill bacterias. But it's better to be safe than sorry, right? We also have the same choice but even though I do not like fresh blood on my steak, I eat cooked pig's blood or "dinuguan". I know you know that. It's one Filipino food that I like. I like the version of Goldilocks and Red Ribbon's. What is amazing on that food is you know you are eating blood but you would not taste blood at all because of all the chili and flavorings.

I prefer medium rare, preferably crisp and slightly burnt on the outside, and tender inside. Medium and well done is a bit too overcooked for me. We also seldom eat steak at restaurants, as it's very expensive. However my hubby is good at this, so he will do the cooking!

Yes beef is very expensive. I'm not a big beef eater, in fact I could live without it. When I do order steak, i like it medium rare. That is kind of red but not bleeding! I like to season it with lots of salt and pepper and no steak sauce. Hubby is a huge meat fan and steak is a favorite, now a days a treat because of the price. He likes his cooked the same way as I do but he like steak sauce rather than salt and pepper. Have a good night

There are lots of alternative to beef and I agree that it is really getting more expensive than ever. Here in our country, you have to shell out not lower than a hundred pesos just to eat a decent beef steak meal. But I'm talking about the high grade beef, the tender beef type. There are still some cheap beef that can be bought from the market but it will take you hours to make them tender or else you will be eating rubber for your dinner.

Hi, same as me here. I really don't think that it is healthy to eat anything that is not cooked very well. I also think that maybe some people like to eat rare food for being adventurous' sake or they just have unique sense of taste. When we go to restaurants, and they offer us fried chicken which sometimes have blood inside, I really tell waiters to get it back and cook it even if we wait.
