Problem connecting to Mylot

I was wondering if anyone else is having any problems connecting to MyLot. When I use the family laptop, which uses wifi connection, I can connect just fine. I can connect to MyLot using the internet shop I frequent to in school as well. But for this entire week, the laptop was taken by my father to a seminar he went to, so I had to use the desktop computer for all internet usage for this whole week. It's OS is Windows XP and it has three browsers—FF, IE and Chrome—and all of them are unable to connect to MyLot. I can see the site fine, I just can't log in on any of the browsers. Every time I try, the status keep saying, "Waiting to connect" and just stops there. Later, the browser will tell me it's taking too long to connect or it'll just take me to a cannot find server page. I know it's not the internet connection because the desktop and laptop uses the same internet connection so it must be the computer or something else I'm not tech-savvy enough to understand. Do any of you have an idea on how/why this happens? And any idea on how to correct it? I lost a week of posting which should have helped me closer to reach my payout and now I don't want to have to ponder over this every time the laptop is taken away.

I don't have any problem with connecting to mylot. Hmm...try tweaking with the cookies, maybe the problem is there.

This is a very weird case, considering I've read other comments and responses. Have you tried turning on the cookies?! Usually it's that. But if it is only mylot...man that is really a very weird case. Hope you nail it so that you can mylot whenever. I'll try to think of other instances, but for now it's only the cookies that I know.

The cookies are on. I mean, when I login on other sites, I stay logged in even when I turned off the PC. I mean, when I visit again the day after, I'm still logged in. That means the cookies work, right? I hope I nail it, too. I can't miss posting all the time when my dad takes the laptop with him; he goes on seminars all the time (it's part of his job). That'll be too many missed opportunities, and it would be better to just stop posting her. I don't need the stress, haha! Thanks again! ^_^

I've cleaned out the cookies and tried other settings but there was no change. The thing is, it's only mylot that's giving me this trouble and only on the logging in part too. I can browse the site fine. Thanks for your time. If you can think of anything else, I would really appreciate if you post it here. ^_^

I have not had any problems connecting to myLot. I can understand why that would be frustrating though. I get really annoyed whenever my computer is not working the way I think it should. Hopefully somebody who is really smart about computers will respond to this post and give you some answers. Good luck!

Thanks a lot! It really was frustrating, though. I mean, that's nearly 6 days where I could have posted here. Even if I might have posted once or twice a day, it would have been better than the complete zero I got. _

That is very weird Semicolonp! And your other browsers concur like they never wanted you to reach payout. Is it only mylot site that your having a problem accessing or the same with other site? Maybe you need to check your network setting or compare both your desktop and laptop network setting. I could could walk you through it if you want too.

You think it's weird too, right? And yes, it is only MyLot. I thought there was another site that was making it hard for me to log in, but it turned out to be because of wrong password input (I can log in there just fine when I asked for the password). Thanks for the offer, but from what I've seen (because I checked too), there seems to be no problem with the network setting thus far. I can use the internet properly on any other site that isn't MyLot. I can browse fine, download fine, use the other uses of the desktop fine. I just really can't login here. I've tried cleaning out my cookies like the poster above suggested too, but there's still no difference. Mind-boggling, is what it is. -sigh-

You made me think there, maybe myLot address was block accidentally at your firewall, your internet security application or your router.

The thing is, though, I could access it properly when I first started in mylot, a month and a half ago. When I started using the laptop more often than the desktop, I hardly logged in using desktop anymore, so it was a surprise when I couldn't log in anymore. I was actually wondering if the chrome was the problem, you know? Because we only recently got it (seeing as it's only been out recently) but my brother, who uses it often, has never complained about anything. I'll see the firewall setting later. Maybe there is a problem there that I don't know about. Thanks!

I've never had problems connecting it.. Maybe there are some configuration problems.. Try installing another browser.. Have a nice day..

There are already three browsers, though, so I doubt the browsers are the main problem. Also, I'm only having problems logging in on MyLot. Either MyLot needs some specific tuning to let a member login, or something is wrong with my configuration of the desktop. Thanks for the comment, though. Hopefully, someone else can tell me what I can do with it.

I'm using a desktop computer with Windows XP as Operating System and also have Internet Explorer and Firefox. I have no problem connecting to mylot though. It's kinda strange that you are only encountering problems when connecting to mylot and not to other sites. There was a time a had a difficulty connecting to all the sites using firefox so i re-installed firefox. But in your case if it's just one site it's kinda looks like some settings. Is the setting of the laptop and the desktop are the same?

Yeah, I didn't either the first times I logged in here using the desktop (about a month and a half ago). Which is why this is all the more mind-boggling. Right? For a moment, I thought maybe I was banned or something. But I logged in just a few moments in the internet shop I frequent and all's fine and dandy. Our firefox is the latest updated version, and as far as I know, the settings are the same. That's why I asked for help because I really think I've tried everything. _

This is a days late reply, but are you still having problems connecting to Buxout, Lexia? I still haven't tried accessing mylot using the desktop since the last poster commented on anything I could possibly do to troubleshoot the PC, but it would become a problem for you if you still haven't been able to access buxout. I wish I can help you troubleshoot it but I'm at a lost as you are. Would you mind redirecting me to your thread if ever you do start a discussion about this? ^_^

Now I'm having problems too. But not mylot but with buxout. I can view all the other sites except buxout. Just found out recently that it is up now and everybody can access it but I can't. And now we both are in fascination as to what is wrong. I too used 3 no make it 4 browsers already so I or should I say we think it's really not the problem. I can access it before then it went down (buxout i mean) because of an upgrade i guess and then I accessed it again for some days and just one day boom. Maybe I can start a discussion about my problem. At least you can access mylot using your laptop while I only have my desktop. hmmm.

Oh, so you've had a problem connecting somewhere else before, too? Have you found a reason and solution to the problem? I'm wondering why my problem is mylot specific though. My dad came home today and I could use the laptop to connect to mylot immediately. Thanks for replying! I hope we figure out the solution to this soon.

Check your security setting on both the computer and your browsers. Lower them a little and see if you can log in then. Oh, and make sure javascript is enabled on your computer.

Javascript is enabled, yep. And the firewall settings on the desktop and the laptop are the same. MyLot is the only site I'm having trouble logging in on, and I can browse the site just fine. It really is just the logging in part. Anyway, thank you very much for your help. It still isn't working on the desktop, but if you think of anything else that could possibly cause a blocking in logging in on a site, I would very much appreciate it if you could post it here. Thanks again!

it is some weird problem that i hvae not encoutntered before. but i think if you want to connect and you can't fix the problem why not try reformat the computer. i hope thta will going to fix your problem with your computer. reformating your computer will erase any progrmas and problems that causing your computer not to be able to connect to the internet or this site.

Thank you for commenting. :) Hmm... reformatting seems a little extreme for a problem like this, I think. MyLot is the only site I'm having a problem logging in on and I'm not having a problem browsing the site, either. Reformatting entails a lot of work with no guarantee that it'll solve the problem, so I'd rather not try it (the desktop is also a family computer and hosts a lot of files that are for all of us). I trying to look at what the others have stated regarding cookies and network connections, but so far, my laptop and desktop, aside from differences borne from differing OS, seem similar in a lot of cases. Thanks for your suggestion, though. It was very much appreciated.

Hello semi. I would have think it is from your internet provider. Sometimes i do get this 'waiting to connect' until it says done but the screen is blank. I am using my desktop most oftenly, but i get this a lot when my provider is slack and slow. What ISP are you using? I am currently using smartbro. Which sometimes slow, but i havent had much problem in this ISP than i had before with broadband services. It's just one of what i can think of why you are having problems getting login to mylot. As most cases, some sites has less bytes, so its faster to login even when your isp is slow.

Hey, sassy, thanks for your reply. And, hmm, I don't know if it's the internet provider. My father finished his seminar yesterday and brought the laptop with him and when I connected using the laptop, I was able to login immediately. The laptop uses wifi connection via a router, so essentially, the desktop and laptop are using the same internet provider but only the laptop allows me login access to MyLot. The bayantel one. During my first days in MyLot (a month and a half ago), I was using the dekstop and laptop alternately and the desktop was logging me in just fine. I don't understand what happened/changed that I can't login now. And it's only on MyLot too. I can login on other forums fine. I can login on any OTHER site fine. Just this.
