He will be leaving us soon

My brothers dog Buddy has been living here for over a year. My brother moved out of his place into an apartment where he could not have pets. He recently bought a house and now is taking his dog back. I will be bringing him back up with me next time I go for a visit which will be in about 2 weeks. It will be strange not having him around because he has been here for almost 18 months. I think I might miss him. Have you ever pet sit for someone before? Do you ever pet sit and then not want to give the animal back?

I've done a good amount of pet sitting, but never for the length of time you're describing. Usually when an animal is only in my care for a week or two, it's really easy to give them back. I could see your dilemma though, and I think I would feel the same way if I were in your shoes.

Oh dear, i am not sure i could give him back. We would have to have shared custody and my brother could get him on the weekends and one month during the summer. LOL! Seriously, it would be really hard to hand him over after all that time.

Buddy - Buddy acting silly!
I will still get to see him every time I go visit my family in St. Louis, so it won't be too bad.

Well as I understand it there have been quite a few dogs there. This will be a good thing. It is natural to get attached to the dog. But you visit St. Louis often. It isn't like you will never see him again. Absense will make the visits you havew with him better!
