most of us drinks cold water after a meal. sometimes a cold cola or cold lemon tea. it is more refreashing to drink something cold after a hearthy meal. but yesterday i heard i doctor talking about this on the radio. since it is a public vehicle i cant tell the driver to put some volume so i can hear it properly. so when i got home i search about this on the net. and i found it. people who drinks cold water after meal are more prone to heart attacks. the cold beverages will slidify the oily stuff that you just have consumed. this fats can lead into cancer or heart attack. heres the link that shows what i found on the net. http://www.loore.com/p/Cliq08/6.php this will not be easy for me but i will try to make it a habit. i love my life.

I always drink warm water. I don't drink cold even before. and yeah it's true. that cold water solidifies our cholesterol and oil in our body. one of the example would be the oil that you put into the freezer. it will solidify due to the cold temperature inside the ref., anyway, that's a wonderful info. for some of us. thanks for sharing and reminding us.

hi roniroxas! during meals i drink cold water but what you are saying is indeed true because instead of dissolving the food with fats that you eat the more it gets retained into your system because when it attracts cold water, its oil begins to form and solidifies. well, it is hard to eat good food with a warm water. hahaha! if i drink warm water it would not stop me from eating because as what i have observed, cold waters helps me satisfy with my eating.. happy posting and happy mylotting!

I usually drink water which is neither cold nor warm , as a biology student i know this hot water or hot liquid fact before itself and it is put up as an alert already but a good person like you :) these warning are really needed,im not sure whether it is Japan or China ,in one of the place people used to have hot/lukewarm tea or coffee after their meals , this reduces the risk of heart attack.

I normally drink something cool (not cold) after eating. The other day I discovered that it was a no no thing and what I now do is eat and wiat an hour or two before I drink anything or I may have a cup of tea afterwards dependingon what I feel that I need at the time.

I usually don't drink anything after a meal. I am in the habit of drinking something with my meal. And the temperature of the drink depends on the temp outside. Hot weather I drink an icy cold drink. Colder out then I drink a warmer dink.

If doctors suggest drinking cold water after meal are more prone to heart attacks we should avoid drinking cold water after our meal.I also found on the net that cold or normal beverages both are dangerous for our health. There are some harmful chemicals in beverages. So we should make habit to take natural food or drinks.

Ouch. Guilty. Yes I've heard of this as well but unfortunately, I'm a little hard headed when it comes to water. I really cannot drink water if it's not cold. Even when I'm sick, I still insist on having at least a couple of ice cubes in my glass. Or else I won't eat. Lol. I'll try to lessen this. Try...

I herd this too. When ever I go to the Chinese restaurant to get "take out" when I see the employees eating they always have a hot soup broth to drink with their food. I have never seen them drink anything cold. This does makes sense. Now all I have to do is try to change my habit of drinking something cold.

I don't know that. Thanks for sharing that here. I'll try to avoid cold drinks. But, if it is really humid and hot I'll definitely drink cold water or ice tea.

Well, I don't really like to have water after my meal, maybe sometimes later. I mostly just drink a cool drink with it, but I don't really seem to like very cold beverages. I don't really like hot beverages very much either because they always burn my tongue!

Wow I never thought of this till I read your discussion. I have always drank cold water after dinner. Also I drink cold water or cold milk during dinner. The only time I ever drink warm water after dinner is when it is winter time or it is really cold out cause it warms my body up. I cant drink much sweet stuff because it hurts my teeth. But now to think about it cold water would do this cause when I use to get done cooking hamburgers I would put cold water in the pan so it would be easier to throw the grease away.

I prefer to drink something cold. I have about this before, they also say that people who drink warm or hot beverages after a meal are healthier and don't have weight issues. But it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks!

I wish the article had been accompanied by a doctor's credentials. Sounded like an email that got passed around and finally landed on a website. Not sure about the credibility.

yes that is true that the assurance of the credibility is 50-50. but if you come to think of it, it is somehow true. if you pour cold water on a food with grease, the grease will be visible. but if you pour something hot the grease will disolve.... something like that. thanks for the response beauty

Hi roni'...actually its a fact that it is better to have fruit salad before you eat rather than after as a pudding as the juices in the fruit break down the food you eat for dinner and gets rid of the fatty bits you don't need..whereas if you eat fruit after it has the adverse affect and cannot break your food down as easily. If also you drink water after a meal instead of before once again this can cause fatty tissue whereas you should drink it before you eat and have a warm drink eg tea or coffee after a meal which also helps your food digest more easily. In restaurants etc they always ask you if you would like a coffee or something and in the victorian era that is what they used to do..so really they must of known something about it too ..hugs littleowl p.s you shouldn't drink whilst eating either...
