Bed low or high?

My fiance and I just got our bed frame fixed as it is starting to get colder. The bed sits higher then it used to, and therefore the TV is almost even (we are a bit higher then the t.v.). My question is, Do you prefer your bed to be higher or lower to the ground and why? I am actually liking the bed being higher, but my fiance just doesn't enjoy it as much as I. I told him he'll just have to get used to it, and I think that he will after a few days. So Do you prefer your bed higher to the ground or lower and why?

Yeah I know you have told me I will just have to get used to and I might get used to it after a while,I do enjoy having the bed higher up since it is what I was always used to and since it is getting colder, but I really liked it on the ground because it was easier to get into the bed and we did not have to worry about knocking the Star Wars figures off the wall, and it was a new experience for me,and I kind of wish that every Summer we could take it down, and then put it back up in the Winter when it is cold.

I am sure your parents will like us doing that, taking it up and down as the seasons change, especially since we don't know the first thing about putting a headboard together, especially like your father did, in the no instructions sense, non store bought way. lol.

Better with a high bed because at least you are getting upright (in a proper position) without hurting your back and knees (upon rolling on a low bed, you even have to get up using your hands and knees). :)

That is true a bed lower to the ground can harm your back and knees, well if there is no frame. When we had the frame before and it was lower it was not so bad as well we had a frame, this one is higher, and I think I like it alot more. I appreciate the response!

Hi SOmeCowgirl, Personally, I prefer higher bed, I am used to it ever since and It takes time for me to settle down and sleep once there is a change! LOL! I also love when it is level to the Tv, very comfy!

I like when things are rearranged in a room our changed just a bit, so when the bed was changed I was happy! It is very cozy when the t.v. is level! lol!

I do not like my bed to be too high nor do I like it to be too low. I believe a bed should be high enough so that the bogeyman will not be able to crawl underneath it. Lol!

My bed is fairly high like kind of have to hop to get on it. I like it that high. I had it on the floor for a while and hated it being so VERY low.

The feeling of being high off the ground is great, I know. I feel like a little kid again every time I get on the bed, lol. Well In any case, I am so glad your happy with the way your bed sets now. Being low on the ground isn't bad either, at least in my opinion but I can see where you don't like it so much! I appreciate the response! Happy Mylotting, Holidays and Have a Great day!

It doesn't matter to me. I have a lower bed in our my room (my parent's house). Now that I am married, my hubby and I sleeping in a higher bed. It doesn't matter of it is high or low, what matters to me is how comfy the bed will be and the size of it..hehe. Enjoy your new bed!!

True that comfort is best, but sometimes the height can be an issue with comfort. I suppose that goes more into what's at eye sight such as a t.v. or a fan that you use at night. I know that when my fiance and I started living together (when I moved in with his parents) the height of his bed was a lot different from what I was used to sleeping on, which was mattress and box spring on the floor. I like changes, and he doesn't so much! I appreciate the response, we are enjoying our bed! I hope your bed is comfortable!
