I get sick in the winter and it lasts anywhere from October or November until February or March. But, I am hoping to be able to avoid it this year. I started taking Probiotics and Immune Boosters in February last year after I had been sick for 4 months...consecutively...literally. It made me better within a week.
So, my suggestion is that you go to a local herbal store and ask the store attendant for some immune boosters and probiotics. Not Antibiotics. Antibiotics break our immune systems down and, while they may help heal whatever is wrong, they leave us vulnerable to more infections and illnesses until our immune systems build themselves back up.
I hope you feel better soon!

cortjo73 gave you some very good suggestions! There are many ways to treat and prevent colds and the flu and the best way is to boost your immune system. As another myLot member stated, as soon as they relieved their stres, they felt better, so if stressed, you can become sick, relieve your stress.
Get plenty of rest. By this I mean sleep. Sleep should last 8 hours and the prime sleep occurs during the hours of 10pm-2am and the overall best time to sleep is after sundown and awake at sunrise.
Drink plenty of water... purified water, not straight from the faucet.
Take high quality multi-vitamins... vitamin A is very good once you're sick (but not if pregnant) Vitamin C, zinc, selenium are others that should be taken.
Drink warm water and ginger tea during the day to help break-up mucous. Eat fresh, organic veggies and fruits as often as possible and stay away from dairy products.
Once you are rid of the cold, continue to drink plenty of water and try to eat several helpings of organic veggies & fruits. This is what we do and so far, there hasn't been a cold for over 6 months...even when everyone around us has a cold.
Feel better!

Hi Margarit, hope you're feeling better by now.
Some time back, I had this sore throat that just didn't want to quit. I took medication for a month, and followed all the health rules (no cold drinks, no spicy or fried food), but the sore throat still persisted. I really got so fed up with just drinking warm water, and eating bland food everyday. So one day, I went ahead and ordered KFC, curry noodles and lots of cold coke. Miraculously, the sore throat didn't get worse; in fact I recovered a few days after that.

That has really got to be hard to be sick so much. And you have to work also which definitely doesn't make it any easier. I know that I have suffered through some colds that wouldn't seem to quit.
Luckily I haven't gotten sick yet this season. I have had some sinus pressure recently during the summer time. It is a horrible thing to go through when it gets really bad. I usually take some kind of aspirin or something.
It bothers me when my son gets sick. Every time he runs even a low grade fever I get worried. I guess it is just the mother in me. I do hope that you feel better and that your sickness passes.
