Nani - a good purchase?

Do you guys think Nani is a good purchase by Sir Alex Ferguson? I know Nani got talents, especially good on dribbling and crossing as I noticed, but he's kind of too self-centered. When he gets the ball at the front, most of the time he will try to find a space to shoot but not pass the ball to a teammate at a better spot. But you know, he always shoot the ball to nowhere and more importantly, football is a eleven-men game. He reminds me of Cristiano Ronaldo when he first arrived Old Trafford. But now, he's a superstar. I really hope Nani will grow, not to be a superstar, but a good team player in the team.

I think Nani is another good purchase player from Sir Alex Ferguson. I very admire to him because he can find a talented young player. You see that in man.utd know consist of much talented young player like Nani, CR7, ronney, tevez, and anderson. The bad thing is man.utd is too depend with CR7, you see that without CR7 in the early match man.utd can't win easily against other clubs.

Man United get too used to the form with CR7, without him the team cannot form the regular attack form. They should try to find some more choices/point of attack if they want to keep to be a strong team. I am not sure weather Berbatov will help but at least he gives an extra option of attack.

hi guys...i would like to share my point of view... what i fell is that sir alex is a man having an excellent, remarkable foresight.. there are numerous players who he has moulded into super players... his way of thinking mite not be very predictable but what he thinks has got to be the best.....so if he has picked up nani, it has to be because of a strong reason and if he finds nani repeating the same mistake then he would make sure that he plays for the team or he better be moving out... as far as i can think nani should be given a little more time...he is undoubtfully a good player.

Hi sach_shiva welcome to join our discussion. I agree with you that Nani got talent and Sir Alex is a man of foresight. But I remember he did a few unsuccessful purchases such as Veron and Massimo Taibi. So I would expect sometimes he would make mistakes. Nani had to be told better to play as a team but not alone. I cannot tell if he is playing like that because he wants to get focus so he does not need to be on the bench most of the time, but his self-hero thinking would not earn him any points.

Exactly my thought when Nani joined in.. I too saw a Ronaldo in him. But I must say that since that initial impression, he seems to have fallen off. I think he is good to be a squad player, but whether he would command a permanent number in the playing 11 needs to be seen. I will give him this season to settle in and then comment only next season. Cheers! Ram

Yes. I believe his skill is qualified as a Man United player. But his mind set has to be more well developed. We will wait and see. Of course the club has to give him chances to play as well to let him prove us.But frankly speaking, fans, the club and the manager do not wait long.

Well, he had his contribution to winning the Premiership and Champions League las season, hasn't he? He is still young and he can evolve into a very good player. I think he's got what it takes to become one, and Sir Alex Ferguson has the skill to mold him properly.

Hi stvasile, yes we will wait and see. But do not put this work on Sir Alex so much as you know he will get retiring soon. So it's properly Nani's own work to make himself a better player.

Too self centered. This is one thing I really do not like about him. He always try to steal the limelight. Sometimes he succeeds but many times he fails and that costs Man United opportunities to score. He is never in my favorites list. I prefer players like Scholes who play more for the team.

well.. yeah ..u said it right .. Nani always seem to be looking for a space for himself to shoot at the goal rather than passing the ball to his team mates .. .. but im sure .. with time .. he will be more of a responsible player .. Sir Alex will surely rectify his flaws after all hes still young .. and i do believe he is a good purchase ..with time . hes gonna be a very effective winger.. well.. yeah he sure looks a copy of Cristiano wen he was new at Old trafford .. hope Nani is able to follow his portugal counterpart and be an awesome player .. bt doesnt have a desire to join any other team than Man united :)

For me, Nani still needs time to grow up as a mature player. He is good and quite dependable. Remember last season FA Cup, the demolition of Arsenal 4-0. United playing without Ronaldo. Nani being their main source of attacking moves. But other than that, he always being too selfish until I get bored to see his long shot which never going to goal. For MU supporters, we should gives him some more times to develop into a team player and of course a world class player.
