Police !

Do you think its worth while informing the police of a crime? knowing that they don't always attend to your request to attend a crime, sometimes they don't even respond at all as they deem the crime as pety ?

I think it´s always better to inform the police, even when they don´t always seem to respond they often do keep track of what occurs where and when, though they often cannot solve single crimeds if there is a pattern it will help them catch the criminals... (´cept in the netherlands...if ur bike is gone its really gone lol)

Yes, it's still worth it to report it. It could be a trend going on. And yes, depending on the department size/calls for sevice they deem it petty, but they still should respond regardless. The department I worked for, we had to respond to everything, petty or not and 9 times out of 10 I did a report on it. Never know when something's gonna come back and bite you in the butt. It's not my determination to make if something is petty or not. Obviously it's not petty to the person making the complaint, and they should be treated that way. You could file a complaint with the dept. if they're not responding to calls at all, that's what police are there for.

When my car got nicked they did'nt even both turning up, when I telephoned them to see if someone was coming to see me, they just gave me a crime number over the phone so that I could give it to my insurance company to get the ball rolling, I never heard from them again. " D "

Are you in a bigger city? Not that that's an excuse for the lack of response, but I know it happens a lot in bigger cities. Have you seen/heard that joke? Saw it here, basically (I'm gonna chop it lol) goes One night a man wakes up and sees some guys breaking into his shed, stealing his lawnmower. Calls 911, tells them the same. She says it's super busy, it'll be awhile before an officer can respond. He hangs up. Waits a minute, calls back in a panic some guys were breaking into my house and I shot them! 20 officer's show up, says I thought you said you shot someone breaking into your house, man says and I thought you guys were busy......... So true........lol

I think we should inform them.In greece we have this saying that policemen are pigs, but when in need you ask for them.I mean it doesnt make much sense in english i guess but my point is that there good and bad ones. But if there is some order in our society is because of them, and besides they are hard working people as well, except from some "cowboys" that play the big macho sheriff.

Like you we call them pigs, and other stronger names, but they are the first people we call when theres trouble.

Yes, I do. They are over worked and under staffed like the rest of the jobs out there. They do the best that they can.
