Gossip Gurls

Every corner of my office you'll hear women gossiping. Whatever topic it is, boss and secretary affair, favoritisms, monopoly name it you'll have it. It is sometimes unintentional that we get to talk about lives of other people but gurl you have to admit there is such feeling of excitement whenever you hear the latest or if you are the first one to know. Huge issues normally start with a simple rumor. It is true that news have wings. There is a different version when passed on to the next person until it reaches the person who's being talked about.

I like to be in the know as much as anyone else and even feel slighted to some extent if I'm left out of the loop. I am also aware however how untrue any gossip may be. I don't judge, I base my opinion on what I know and have seen personally. I try to avoid anything that could ruin lives and certainly don't pass it on.

There's a theory that this quality in women was developed in order to hang out in larger social groups. The theory was, language allowed for women to know their role, and their partners roles within a social hierarchy, therefore they could behave appropriately. So, in a way, even though it seems obnoxious! its for the betterment of mankind... For what its worth, I don't mind gossip (like, oh, did you hear Angie got promoted?) but I HATE malicious gossip (like oh, that jerk stole my job!)

I hate that type of person, gossiping and talking behind people's backs are a waste of breath. It helps nobody. Somebody usually gets pretty mad by the time the whole thing is over, just so another can start up. It's very immature!
