Do you pick up coins on the road?

A couple of months ago, I decided to do some physical exercise and save some cash at the same time. I chose to walk about a half kilometer every weekday while on my way to work. I go out of the house earlier than usual; about thirty to forty minutes ahead my routinary schedule. Along the way, I saw some loose coins which have very minimal value but I picked them up just the same. I was even surprised that for about two weeks, I was able to see and keep at least one piece of coin each day. How about you? Do you pick-up coins you see along the way? Or you're hesitant to do so?

Based on my experience, since I was a kid I usually picked up coins on the road, but after a few minutes even I had to hid or kept it somewhere that I thought it was safe, it still gone. And its not just once that it happened to me. Because it always happens to me, I thought next time if I can find a coin on the road I will not save it, I will just spend it straight away before it will be gone. Then one day, I found more than one coin on the road and I picked them all. I spent it straight away and I was happy about it. But the next day, I lost more than the amount of the coins that I picked up on the road and I was very sad because I really need that money. And I told my grandma about it, she said to me maybe you are not the kind of person who should pick up coins on the road because you will lost more if you do. So from that moment until now I never picked any coins or amount of money on the road!

Well, that's something new that I haven't heard until now. You're a unique person, if I may comment. I guess your grandmother has a point there, too.

Don't give up hope just yet. Who knows, maybe tomorrow your wealth luck could change for the positive in an instant. And regarding the salary issue, I guess most of us have a difficult time budgeting our pay. In fact, I personally am trying my best to fully pay all our monetary obligations until the present year ends. I believe this is partly the reason why we search for earning opportunities, whether online or otherwise. Anyway, good luck to both of us that we could money save as much as we'd like to.

Maybe I am just the kind of person who is not allowed to save money hehehe. Even how hard I tried to save I still end up with no money, everytime I got my wage it always slipped off from my bank account it goes straight away to the bills. The next time I checked it, oh my, its gone. I just can't believe it I want money but money don't likes to be in my hands, I don't know whats wrong with me. Maybe I am destined to be poor all my life hehehe.

I will pick up coins that I find, although I am probably a little hesitant to pick them up if there is someone watching me.

Even if I do pick up coins I see on the road, I still am quite hesitant to do it at times, particularly if somebody is looking at me or it is a crowded place.

ABSOLUTELY! i always pick any sort of money on the side of the road. while i dont go out every day, i do find money almost all the time that i go out. i have found lots of pennies, some quarters, once i found a twoonie (a $2 coin here in canada) and another time, i found a $5 bill! i pick them up because money adds up!

I'd say that you're quite lucky finding these amounts lying on the ground. Personally, the biggest amount I picked up from the road so far is a peso (Philippine peso) or equivalent to less than five cents (in dollars). Sometimes, I even imagine myself picking up a hefty sum of cash enclosed in an envelope on the ground without any person in sight. But this is just wishful thinking and I'd better stop before I go into it again.

Your response not only made me smile, but surely it made me laugh but I had to control it because I'm here in the workplace at the moment. If they do see me laughing, I'm afraid they'd think that I'm going crazy. But I can imagine how you or anyone would feel upon seeing a thousand bucks on the ground and being able to keep it for oneself. That would really be something.

I guess you're like some other people who feel ashamed to do it. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

I guess you're fortunate enough not to experience being out of cash. Or maybe, you're wealthy so money isn't really a problem for you. If this is the case, I admit that I quite envy you because my family is having financial difficulties at the moment.

I'm glad a lot of people do the same thing as I do. I believe that during these tough times that we are currently facing, we have to save as much as we can for future use and more important purposes.

I pick up coins when I find them. I usually keep some change in a small jar in my truck, and when I get it full, I will take it and put it in the bank. Every little bit helps...

Yes, I believe in this, too. I think the same way as you do. Unfortunately, I don't get to accumulate it to save a bigger amount, because I usually spend it for paying bills; especially the centavo part.

yes i do! well they say if you found a coins this could be a good luck charm or something like that. but then again the true luck is that you are the one who found and pick it up while it just lay around there somewhere.

Well I'm not so familiar with this belief but I still feel lucky finding a coin because somehow, it adds up to my current cash on hand which is very minimal.
