Travelling can be a very enjoyable experience or sometimes a very unpleasant one. Have you lost anything while travelling? Your wallet, bag, cell phone, specs etc? or Even worse have you fallen sick in any of your journeys? I have.I got high temperature and vomitted through most part of one of my journeys. Can't tell you how painful it was. With no proper bed and medication. Reaching destination was a bliss because immediately I received the treatment and cure and thank Goodness, the ordeal (indeed it was!!) was over.

I had enjoyed traveling through Sumatra when I was 20 and I waited to catch a ferry to Medan to Penang. I bought a delicious looking salad to eat. I boarded the ferry and couldn't stop being sick. I was throwing up and there was no way I could take in the sea air because I was stuck inside. I developed a high fever and couldn't eat or drink because I would throw up. I was weak and tired after that sickness I had. I had a wonderful time in Kuala Lumpur and then got a train and then bus to Mersing. One evening I went out to get a meal but I fell down an open drain and injured my leg. I came home from my trip around the world on crutches. In the Maldives when I was 34 I was walking along a lonely beach and then I was attacked. That was my worst travel experience. I had fear in Nairobi but stayed safe but I was harmed in Paradise where up until that point I had felt safe. How strange.

The only cruise I have went on, I was terribly ill the entire time. The only time I felt ok was when we disembarked at our destinations. Come to find out, I had an ear infection and was miserable through the entire trip. Needless to say, I don't want to go on another cruise.

That tells it all.Cruise is an entirely different experience. You cannot disembark in between like one could do while on land,if situation demands. What an unpleasant journey nawdydawny.

Ouch! That sounds like a horrible experience. I've been fortunate when traveling. Am not one to travel on a real regular basis but do go visit our daughter a couple of times a year. Everything I took with me came back home with me and I've never been sick while traveling.
