OMG..one of my friends account at CIAO had been banned yesterday..She had been so successful in writing the reviews and had been expecting a payment too. She could not guess the reason why her account was blocked. The only thing is that she had been writing reviews about products of same category..Is this not acceptable? I think many mylotters are successful at CIAO too..Please share your experiences.. Do you write reviews about products at various categories or from a same category..Is it risky to write reviews about products from same category?

there's nothing wrong is writing reviews in the same category as long as you are not violating the rules but there's something that you must be wary of. send me a PM and i'll let you know and you must be aware of this too. i only have 20 reviews so far and i think half of it are in the same categories but i always tried my best to avoid violating the guidelines. and to do that is to write honestly as possible according to your own.

What's that? I sent you a friend request. You can PM me what's that something that we must be aware of. I think I may need to slow down cos I've been posting reviews non-stop since I started 3 days ago and I see other users who has been with the site with a purple or red dot but only made half of the reviews I made.

you had more points if you are in the circle of friends of such member, another factor is the number of comments/reads you got from members and non members. you can check your status at the settings area under statistics. i'll PM you after this.

oohh, i forgot something. i usually avoid making review with products that has made a review of it already and usually go to the one who has no review yet but of course those that i am familiar with or have it. the reason is, you earn better if you are the first making the review than those behind you.

I am on a skeptical mode right now for ciao and I'm accessing how the site progresses. The site says that the dollar a review promotion or what's the word called won't be for long, so number 1: I'm waiting for when the dollar a review promotion will go away and from then on, how the system will pay its users. Just by voting..? Then I wouldn't want to be a part of it, because I think that some users vote quite biased. Like I see some 5 lines and people rate the review as 'exceptional'. I think that's a bit much and that's why I wouldn't want to be in those dishonest categories. I've been jerking from the site a bit, and not writing reviews until I get my first payment from them, to declare the site as a paying site to its members. But I'm giving the site a chance to prove its worth and all because since it's a new version in US and all that. We'll see. But for now, I've stopped reviewing things and waiting for my first payment from them, which they say will be processed during the 2nd week of the month. And I heard some people saying that ciao will pay around 1 week or more after the process. So that takes quite a long while to wait for payment. So we shall see. For the matter of your friend, I think that the last user before me said is true. If you review a certain category say electronics, then it would be kind of non logic. You couldn't possibly have 1,000 TV sets to review and etc. But if one sticks to movies, music and TV shows etc, there will be lots to review because it makes sense that one can watch so many movies and to review them in their honest ways.

I think there are hundreds of mylotters who are waiting for their first payment at CIAO to check if CIAO pays or not? That is right..If the site does not pay, then continuing with the site does not have any meaning.. And about my friend, she had written reviews in the movies category only..that too all in her own words..

I'm waiting anxiously as well. Hope that they will really pay, since it's approaching November soon ..

I believe that you can write in the same category as long as it is not about the same product every time. I know that the content that you write in your review must be original and can not be copied from anywhere. I hope that your friend gets her account staightened up and is back to doing reviews soon.

What was the category? A common way that people try to scam reviews sites is to write reviews of products they've never used, sometimes by plagiarism and sometimes just by making things up to say. If you write a hundred reviews of new TV models, for instance, that would seem strange because most people wouldn't be able to use so many new TVs. It might be possible to do if you owned an electronics store, I guess, but it's easy to see why you might be suspected of being a cheater if you wrote so many reviews on the same type of product. Electronics are also "big ticket" items that can be lucrative to write about, thus encouraging scammers. On the other hand, if you wrote several reviews of different types of snacks and they were all unique, I doubt you'd be thought of as a scammer because it's not unusual to eat a wide variety of snacks (and they are also a cheap item). If your friend is confident she didn't break any rules, she should definitely try to get her account back. Maybe it is all a mistake or the site suspected cheating where no cheating actually occurred.

It's definitely nothing wrong in writing reviews for the same category at Ciao. One possible reason i can think of is that the reviews may contain plagiarism.

So it is not a big problem to write reviews at a same category..right? yes, plagiarism could be a reason..But everything was her own reviews..So she could not guess what could be the reason..

I have been advised by some of my friends to go slow over there. I think going in high speed will cause the trouble there. One of my friend here in mylot posted a discussion saying that he earned some $40 in some 3 days. I saw a response asking him to slow down or else he may be banned. That must be the reason with your friend too. I guess. I am not sure. Happy mylotting.

she had posted just 5 reviews in a week and earned just 5 dollars from that..
