Ha ha! The Darn Dog Gave Her a Biscuit

"If you were homeless and had to stand on a corner with a cardboard sign, what would you write on it?" I thought of this question while watching a "HBO" movie. This woman was standing on a corner holding up a cardboard sign that said " I am not a drug addict, just out of luck!" It was a funny movie because she actually WAS a drug addict and no one stopped to help her but her dog, he gave her one of his biscuits that he stole from the neighbors poodle. Haha! I would write on my sign "Free to Good Home." I wonder will someone take me in?..

Hi! Well, if I were to hold a cardboard sign, perhaps it would be, "Will dance for food"? That still sounds like a job to me, though. I don't know..I can't really imagine myself asking people for money or food. I am used to being self-sufficient. I may also not take in a homeless person to live with me in my house because in my country, we don't just let strangers in. The most we could do is feed them or give them food, then let them go. I believe that giving some coins or spare cash to the homeless is not really going to help them. They need a stable source of income.

Right, if you give them food or a few coins, it won't last but maybe a few hours or maybe even a day then they'll be back where they started, begging again. They probably should spend more time seeking a job or something.

If I got to that point in my life, I would like to think I would be more pro-active than to simply a hold a sign. However, if I had surrendered to the fact that I could not change my fate, I would hold a sign that says "Give a little to a man who gave up a lot." Because, if I get to that point in my life, I will have given up everything that I hold dear....or more likely, will have lost everything, but not by choice.

I'm not a lazy person when it comes to survival, maybe when it comes to cleaning my computer desk, but I do it anyway.

I saw this topic a while ago miracle freebies but it's taken me ages to come up with something I would put on a sign! lol. But I finally came up with one! If I were to stand on a corner to beg for money with a sign then the wording would say the following: "I am just one dollar away from my first million! Please help."

I would think that anyone that saw someone standing on a street corner with a sign like this would realize in an instant that the person holding the sign obviously didn't have $999,999! They might get a kick out of this person's sense of humour more than anything else. Only an idiot would think this person had a lot of money in the first place! Why would they be doing what they were doing if they did??

I think you'll get a lot of people's attention, but don't you think that they would want to see the rest of the Million dollars that you already have?

Wow. I do not think that I will wear a sign. I might end up collecting cans and try to find work, homeless shelthers and places that can help me. It is a sweet and funny scene tho. Too bad she was really lying. No wonder people raise their eyebrows help I give change to people who say they need the help.

Who wants to take in a bum anyway. I rather help someone who wants and tries to help themselves, not someone whose just looking for a handout.

And alot of them are mean as heck. if you stand on there corner and don't ask them they beat the other people and sometimes kill them. I don't give to them one's or the ones that say stuck trying to leave to go home. As this one couple did that. They live in the suburbs come into the city looking all down and out. and make more money then me in one day. LOL. Hey it's a job. Your friend onlydia

Hmmm... I'm not sure, I can't remember half the movies I watch, a lot of times I start watching a movie from the middle or the end and I don't really bother about getting the name of it. I'm good at faces, not names.

Lol.. That's a funny scene. That's why they say that a dog is a man's, well a woman's too, best friend. Well, In this country no one would take a bum home, even if they do something that is very good for others. Instead, I would try to stand up on my own feet and work for my own living. bourne

The poor lady tried and tried, but all she got was a bone, but as they say, "it's the thought that counts" I had a dog just like that. Boy I miss him.
