I know is really cool to have one and it lets other people know you are from that religion, but seriously do you read it? And by the way what is so special on the book, is a lot of past things that no-one knows if they really happen, and just for reading it you wont become a better person then why should i have a bible at home?

I know this might be a novel idea, but some of us actually read our Bibles! Crazy I know. If you don't use the Bible as a tool to further your knowledge of you religion then I guess there really isn't any reason for you to own a Bible, but if you already do own one, take a peek inside. There are some really interesting and applicable concepts in that little book. As far as no one knowing whether the things in the Bible actually happened or not, I personally believe what it written there because I have faith the God gave me his word so I could know what he requires of me.

We have about 3 bibles in the closet. The only time I see them is if I'm searching for something or to refer to something I may have seen or heard on television or the media. I don't know why you have the bible at home. It is the most sold book in the world. Maybe people buy it and keep it just to have something to fall back on. I don't know.

It's not a big deal to have a bible at home. I read the bible from cover to cover. Several times. That is not a big deal. Cheers!!

I dont' know if I would consider having a Bible in your house is 'cool' or not. I do have at least 4 or 5 in mine. Yes, there is alot of history that can and has been and probably for ever more will be disputed, however, there is also alot that can be and has been proven. There is so much that one can learn from the Bible, even in this day and age. For example, the Ten Commandments. These are 10 very simple rules to live by, no matter what religion you choose to follow. Just follwing them makes everyone's life alot easier. There are also scriptures in there that apply to almost every situation we can find ourselves in , even in this day and age. You actually can become a better person by reading it. Just having it it your home will not make a difference whatsoever, unless you actually pick it up and learn from it. Your relationship with God is a personal thing, and only you and He knows exactly where you stand in that relationship. Having a Bible out for 'show' doesn't change anything.
