If you need to run away from home... I am not saying that running away is good... but from time to time... we need to run away... maybe to have some alone time for a few days... to gather our thoughts... make other realize our importance... or just any personal reasons... I ran away from home 10 years ago... ang the place i went to was the church... since it was already late at night and i do not want to bother any of my friends... but that was quite an experience for me... the silence... the darkness... and the solitude... So... where would you go if you need to run away from home/...

I'd probably run away to some place that I really don't know.. Since I'm rather familiar with going to the city since I use to go to college there, I might consider running away to the opposite direction. I mean, going north would lead me to the city, if I'd really want to run away and not be found any time soon, I'd go south..

I totally agree with you... when i ran away... i only had a few hundred pesos in my pocket... that is why i only went to the church... if i had more... i would have gone to Baguio... or Manila...

Wow... i guess you know where to go if the situation ever arises in your life... whether it be north or south... as long as we can go to a place where we can gather our thought... and think thing through... withoug compromising our safety.. then any place would be great... Thanks for the response...

Anywhere safe is indeed a good place to run away to when one wants to run away from home every now and then.. though most of the time, one needs money wherever he or she might fancy on going (^_^") Your welcome.

i never had to run away... may be such a situation did not arise. i would have prefered to go to hell. i searched for hell every where. that place seems to be out of our reach atleast for now. it must be a good place for fun

You are the only i encountered who thinks that hell is a fun place to be with... i wonder what made you think that... since we all know that hell is place where bad people are punished... Thanks for the response...

Well, we all have a choice to make... and i do not think God would only impose that all people go to heaven... there is no balance in that... people should choose where they want to go... so if you do not want to go to heaven... then that is of your own choice...

my reasoning is not complicated. if god and his servants want humanity to go to heaven only, then there must be some vested interest in it. what do you think? its like telling the child about ghosts and spirits if he does not mend his ways.

Recently due to an argument with my aunt, infact just a comment from her drove me beyond rationalist thinking and I just took off from home and kept walking on the streets with just one thing on my mind that I have to get away from all lot of them. Infact I even forgot aboout my kids and only remebered them after an hour and a half of walking. Then came back towards the house but never went exactly in the locality too. Just didn't feel like it. Actually this thing was bound to happen sooner or later as I had actually lingered on verge of sanity when I lost my mom the only parent I had known eight years back and then with no support from anywhere I just barely managed to control myself then two years back I went through a lot of stress for a month almost with my inlaws treatment of me. I think now my ability to deal with stress is really low and I myself don't know how I will react anymore. Its kind of scary and I have been thinking of consulting some therapist for this.

I don't have people right now whom I an talk to as freely but yes I am working on finding alternate ways to save my sanity. I hope some day I will reach there.

Seems like you are really under a lot of stress right now... and you need someone to share this with... or an activity that can destress you... walking away is a good start... that way... you can just be along to gather your thoughts... i hope you have a close friend who can help you... Thanks for the response...

It is nice that you have a close family to run to... some are not that lucky... when i had to run away... i can never go to my relatives because i know they would just scold me... instead of giving me kind words... Thanks for the response...

Hello aseretdd, I can't think of a place to go if I really need to run away. I was very brave during my younger time. I always be a lone ranger and prefer to be alone whenever I go anywhere. One time, when I had an argument with my boyfriend, I took the last bus from my hostel to the nearest town. I went back to Kuala Lumpur at night and walked around the city alone in the middle of the night. I was afraid to go back to my sister's house as she would asked me many questions so I decided to sleep in a budget hotel, in an area which is known for all the wrong reasons. I went back to my hostel a day after and until now, nobody knows about this except people here in MyLot!

Oh my... you are quite brave when you were young... i wouldn't even think of going to a place with that kind of reputation... do you think you can ever do that again... but i guess you do not need to go to a budget hotel since you already have a job and can afford a much nicer hotel.. Thanks for the response...

I guess we really do get more afraid when we grow older... right now... i have this fear everytime i go to the main city... and this is because of all the accidents that i watch during the news... it is really a part of life...

Hello aseretdd, I don't think I have the gut to do it anymore. I became more afraid when I get older That's a lesson to me. Whenever I pass by the area now, it makes me remember the 'good old days'. If only my late father knows about it, I will definitely get a slap from him!

To me if I have to run away from home, I will choose to travel to a faraway place but it is still in my own country. I will head to the north or south or the east. I will book in advance a room in a hotel and travel to my destination by the slowest means of transportation. Most probably I will take the bus or train. If I want to have a bit adventure, I will take the train because I can roam inside it. If I just want to sleep I can get the bus or the train with the bed. When I reach my destination, I will sleep there for a night or two. During the stay, I would go around the place and buy things that caught my interest. After that I will travel back to my home and set a new fresh mind in my head.

You are quite a planner when it comes to running away... maybe if i am still single with little responsibilities in life... i would definitely run away to another country... and stay there for like a month... i like the idea of taking the train... Thanks for the response..

I remeber that discussion of yours... and i think i responded to it too... the movies is indeed an ideal place to go... if you want to be away for just a couple of hours... and a feel good movie is the perfect one to watch... since it would make us feel better afterwards... Thanks for the response..

i wont say, i would like to run away from home but rather i want to have time for myself away from home but only for a little time maybe 3-5 days, and i would like to go to a beach where i could sit on the shoreline during sunset til evening and have a walk alongside the beach.... and there i could meditate and think of what i really want to do... :)

Wow... that would be great... the beach is the perfect place to go to where one could gather his/her thoughts and meditate... too bad i did not have a lot of money when i ran away from home... or else i would have gone to a beach resort or a hotel by the mountainside... Thanks for the response...

Hi aseretdd, I haven't tried running away from home but if ever I will and I have money, I will be in a hotel alone! I want to be alone and have total silence and that is the only place I can think of since even in our city, church will be closed after 8 pm and I have observed that also here, but, whenever I wanted to be alone before, I will stay in the "adoration chapel" in our city for more than an hour, very relaxing and peaceful!

Generally I would stay and try and work through my problems. But I have 2 really good friends. If things got bad, I may go stay with one of them. But only until I could find a solution to whatever made me feel I needed to leave. Then I would go back.

Well, we all need to go back and confront our problem... no use in running away from it because it will not go away... unless we do something about it... but it is a good thing that you have good friends who are always there to help you out... Thanks for the response... sorry for the late comment...

I don't think I would run away...home is too comfortable. However if such a need should arise, most probably I would find solace in a Buddhist temple some 10km away. I know it's kind of crazy, as I'm a Christian, I should be seeking comfort in a church. Yet I have been to this temple, and I felt such peace and tranquility.

Well, Hi first! I had never and I guess will not do this. But if, really once in my life time, I need to run away from home, I'll go to KTV and sing and scream all through the night!!I'm a great fan of singing! How's that sound? Have a nice day!

I sometimes want to just get away from problems. Usually I just go to the guest room in my home. It is downstairs a little hidden and I can have my privacy. Now if I ever decided to run away from my home I can always be welcome at my mother's home. Her door's are always open and I can call her at anytime when needed. You picked a good place to go it is usually calm in a church and there you can think things over without interupption.

It is good that you have two different places to go to when you need to ru away... running away doesn't have to be a bad thing... it can sometimes do good for a person or family... since there are times when we need a little space to ourselves... Thanks for the response...
